‼️ MODEL ESSAY
The young today spend a large amount of leisure time in shopping centers. It is fear that this trend can bring about negative influences on the youths and the society. Personally, I strongly disagree with this view.
On the one hand, for the young generation spending too much time at the shopping malls can make them waste a great deal of money. As there are dozens of brands with various prices and design for them to choose from, they are easily tempted to buy things impulsively and misspend money on unnecessary stuff. For example, when some big brand names slash the prices, a shopaholic may purchase 10 shirts and jeans in a row and this cost her somewhere $100; however, such items often end up being left in the wardrobe. For the society, because youngsters are unlikely to participate in other activities such as their work or studying, economy may suffer due to less work being done and the youths could slack off their knowledge acquisition, making the national education standard drop significantly.
On the other hand, there are also some advantages of this trend. First, in terms of the young, spending time at the malls is considered a method of relaxation. In modern life these days, young people have to deal with lots of pressure from school or workplace, so this trend helps them enjoy their life and effectively release their stress. Second, the society also benefits from this phenomenon. The increase in the amount of consumption will promote manufacture and commerce in the fashion industry, which afterward will create more jobs and boost the economic growth.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that devoting a huge amount of time in shopping malls could lead to both negative and positive consequences to the young as well as the society.

The Only Resolution You Need for the New Year
When you place the pressure on yourself to get things done, it can bring you under the Law.
“I will not....”, “I must do this”, etc.
New Year resolutions don’t help. Willpower and self-discipline can produce temporary results, but the works of the flesh aren’t lasting and often come with undesirable tradeoffs.
Are you willing to double your income and damage your health in the process just to fulfill a new year resolution by your own strength?
You’ll end up paying the money you’ve earned to the hospital!
Are you trying to lose weight by extreme dieting? You’re depriving your body of important nutrients it needs, and not to mention that terrible rebound when you stop dieting. It’s not a long term solution.
What we need is to repeatedly refocus our spiritual eyes back to Jesus whenever we are tempted to look away from Him.
The prefix “re-“ can have the meaning of “once more; afresh; anew”.
Jesus is the New Year re-Solution we need. Have a problem? Go to Jesus once more. Need wisdom? Receive from Jesus afresh. Feeling fearful or worried about something? Meditate on Jesus’ love anew.
I was just reading one of my favorite psalms 139 and allowing it to fill me with a sense of God’s love, and I was particular drawn to this passage:
“If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me; the light around me will be night”; even the darkness doesn’t hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness is like light to you.” (Psalms 139:11-12 WEB)
Our eyes need light to see. Even with perfect eyesight, we can’t see in total darkness.
It’s okay, because to Jesus, the darkness is still as clear as light. Nothing is hidden from His sight, so rely on Him to give you wisdom.
Jesus is most willing to share what He sees with you.
The year 2020 ahead may seem like pitch blackness because you can’t see the future, but Jesus knows what is ahead.
Ask Him to remove the pitfalls, give you wisdom to face the challenges and to give you favor in every situation.
As you follow His leading through His Spirit inside you, He will guide you by the hand to navigate through the darkness, into a good place!
The one with perfect 20/20 vision in 2020 is Jesus! Follow Him and you will see clearly through Him.
“You crown the year with Your bounty, And Your paths overflow.” (Psalms 65:11 AMP)
You may not be able to see where He’s leading you, but as you walk in Jesus’ paths by faith, you will find them overflowing with His bounty (abundant blessings)!

PART 1️⃣ #TheFatimahShow is back, with a brand NEW topic to discuss - DON’T WASTE FOOD!
.
Fasting makes us feel much hungrier than usual, and we’re tempted to eat more than we normally do. This is often more than we can take in. Our appetite grows bigger, but our stomach stays the same! Because of this, we cook or buy more food and end up wasting the leftovers.
.
The fact that we feel like eating more is just psychology, because we are so hungry. So we cook more, buy more and WASTE more in the end. There really isn’t a point in preparing more food. The portion you can take in still stays the same!
.
It really is a shame, all this food being tossed away like it has no real value, when in truth, it means a lot in keeping us alive! Now don’t think you are alone in craving to eat the whole menu to break your fast. That’s a natural feeling! But even so, you can only really manage to eat about one or two things and that’s about it. We need to take control of that hunger, and keep our portions sensibly sized.
.
Wasting isn’t something to be friends with. Throw out those bad wasting habits and cook how much you know you can eat. Anyway, the reason we fast in the month of Ramadhan is not to dig out some fancy new recipes. The real meaning of fasting in Ramadhan is to open our eyes and feel sympathetic to those less fortunate than us and understand what they are going through, and realise how blessed we are every day!...TO BE CONTINUED!
.
“Eat and drink, but waste not by excess, for Allah loves not the wasters.”
- Surah Al-A’raf, Verse 31, Al-Quran
.
Written by Omar Mukhtar The Pawsome Lion
.
p/s: Stay tuned for PART 2️⃣ of #TheFatimahShow coming out TOMORROW, where Fatimah will give further insights on this topic!
