Not long ago I was at a concert of a now famous singer songwriter. At one point he paused and said something that really touched the audience including me. He said he spent years, decades even, writing songs and singing in the streets to nobody at times and lived on nothing at times. During those years he simply wanted to do what he loves doing pursuing not a dream, not success, not fame but simply a passion. Along the way, he did meet people who implied that he should give up because at that time he was playing to 2 patrons at a bar. He reminded his fans who are artists, photographers or whatever they are doing, not to give up even they came across signs, sounds, messages and suggestions from others who discourage them. He still plays in the streets now but of course now he is drawing a larger crowd.
Along the way, they are people conscious or subconsciously say things to imply that I might be better off doing a certain thing quoting another person's way, or even might as well give up doing what I am doing. There were people along the way who enjoyed implying what I should or should not do. Or even implying, I am not going anywhere.
Whether I am I still going nowhere I am enjoying where I am, doing what I love doing. These little voices telling me to stop walking when I enjoy walking, I must ignore and keep on walking. And yes sometimes I would stop and take a rest on the side of the path to catch my breath on this walk. I stop to smell the flowers......
