顧名思義，ruin bar是指在廢墟中開設的酒吧，他們位於Budapest 的舊猶太人居住地，這些房子在二戰後一直丟空。後來，有人開始在這些滿佈塗鴉的屋子裏擺放了一些傢俬，出售便宜的飲品，吸引了越來越多人慕名而來。

Ruin bar 的外表仍然是被遺棄的房子，而且沒有招牌，但每間房間或酒吧都有不同的特色，通常都放滿了與環境有點格格不入的擺設，給人一種凌亂又不一樣的感覺。

其中最著名的酒吧是Szimpla Kert，中午十二時便開始營業。Ruin bar 很自由，就算你不喜歡飲酒，也可以過來拍照，甚至在牆上塗鴉。

The bar was opened in the ruins of old Jewish quarter which the houses were abandoned after the Second World War. Subsequently, these houses were left with graffiti and people started to refurbish the house by putting some furniture inside and setting up a bar table to sell cheap alcohol. Thereby, more and more people came making it one of the favorite local spot.

On the outlook, ruin bar remains as an old abandoned house with no sign of bar. The inside is totally different with mismatched furniture that is unique within each bar or room. It creates a unique messy experience to each investor.

The most famous icon is as Szimpla Kert which opens from noon. The bar has little rule. If you are not a fan of drinking, you could come in to take picture or even graffiti.
