purchasing agent 或同義詞 buying agent 字面上指的都是「購買仲介」，在英文對話或文字中都可以清楚表達「代購」的意思。但是此處指的代購英文並不包含販賣特定商品的代購店家，也不是事先將商品買下才轉賣販售的代購。
知名新聞媒體如 BBC、CNN 以及維基百科則是使用 daigou，直接以音譯方式作為代購的英文，並且透過直接產生新字彙避免可能的語詞歧異。
