"We need to recast ourselves from consumers to citizens, from takers to givers, from casual observers to active participants... this is about taking opportunities to exercise our listening skills whether in the context of work our family lives or in our friendships. It's about accepting sometimes what's best for the collective, is not what's in our own immediate self-interest "

.
I had faith in myself.
I thought I was clever enough to multitask.
Doing homework while attending the lecture
Having meal while watching soap opera
Drawing a circle on the left while drawing a square on the right
Even listening to two friends chatting on different topics
.
I found it wasn’t multitasking
A heart can’t be divided in parts
Attentive is to focus on the task at hand
I was merely switching between two channels when I “multitasked”, connecting the dotted lines with common sense
.
Focus on walking when you walk
Focus on tasting when you eat and drink
Focus on feeling it when you exercise
You’ll find the world becomes purer, and happiness follows.

First ever podcast with my good friend Maisie who is a Life Coach and Mindfulness Coach! Sit back, relax, close your eyes, and meditate with her.
Whether you are feeling stressed, anxious, restless, or you simply want to relax your mind & body, take a few minutes to explore the power of mindful breathing with me through my mindfulness breathing meditation!
While I was working towards my Certificate in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, I learnt different ways to incorporate mindfulness in my everyday life. Whether it was through mindful movements, mindful eating, mindful listening, or simply mindful breathing, it allowed me to connect and ground both my mind & body with the present moment.
Benefits of Mindful Breathing
1. Reduces stress
2. Decreases anxiety
3. Neutralises negative emotions
4. Ignites calmness
5. Increases patience
6. Raises self awareness
7. Relaxes the body and mind
8. Allows you to slow down
9. Fosters resilience
10. Experience the present moment
Mindfulness, as defined by Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of MBSR is “paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally”. Share this mindful experience with anyone who you think could benefit from it !
Yours truly,

Join Maisie and I as we share some efficient ways to cope with Anxiety.
Remember the last time your heart started to beat really fast before meeting someone for the first time or when your hands started to sweat before giving a presentation?
Next time you feel anxious, try to do this simple exercise! Try the 5,4,3,2,1 practice and find:
5 things you see
4 things you touch
3 things you hear
2 things you touch
1 things you taste
I personally find that this exercise is very helpful to take my mind off the thoughts and things which are making me feel anxious! This practice is especially useful because we mainly get anxious when our mind begins to start thinking in a loop, we may have unnecessary thoughts making us even more anxious. To break this cycle, we may use this practice. It helps us to detach from those thoughts and feelings for a moment, and to bring ourselves back to the present. By doing so, we break the unhealthy cycle and tune into the present and effectively calming ourselves down.
Remember, never blame yourself or feel guilty for having these feelings. Being anxious is a human emotion! Instead, let’s take the time to be aware of them and neutralise it. Whether it’s through the 5-4-3-2-1 exercise or through mindful activities such as running, colouring, reading, listening to music or meditation, let’s strive to take care of ourselves and our emotions!

- Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking hôm nay cùng cô Quỳnh chữa đề IELTS Speaking Part 2 - Describe an activity that is good for your health
Describe an activity you do for your health or fitness
You should say:
- what you do
- how often you do it
- where you do it
- and explain how you think this activity helps you stay healthy or fit
Band 8.0+ Sample
Getting fit and trim is everyone’s concern and I am no exception. To be honest, I’ve been so caught up in my work ever since I graduated, so I have little time to exercise, and as a result, I’m not as supple or agile as I used to be and I begin to feel stiff and sluggish first thing in the morning.
So I decided to take a dance class not long ago to try to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Dancing is a great recreational and sporting choice because anyone at any age can take part. It is more demanding that it appears as it involves all the parts of my body. Dancing requires not only balance, strength, and endurance ability, but also cognitive ability: adaptability and concentration to move according to the music and partner, artistry for graceful and fluid motion, and memory for choreography.
Besides, this dance class is the perfect setting to make new friends as I’ve got a chance to meet up with lots of new cool people and be able to branch out socially.
By maintaining a schedule of taking part in the dance class on a daily basis, I feel extremely relaxed and full of energy after the class. It helps me to keep fit and refresh my mind after a long stressful day. And of course, I don’t see myself stopping practicing this activity any time soon.
