1)Traditional Shiga Biwa Lake Fermented Fish, "Funa Zushi/Sushi 鮒鮨" 琵琶湖産 にごろ鮒 . This type of Narezushi 熟鮓 is the original Sushi in Japan which dates back to before 8th Century according to some texts, which is fermented in Salt & Rice. The rice is not eaten as it's inedible, even though it's called a Sushi, it's used for the fermentation & preservation purposes only. Served along side is some Sake Lee Miso it's finally Marinated in... I always make it a habit to eat this whenever I go past Shiga or Kyoto. This round was much smellier stinkier than my last experience lol 😂😥
2)一品で2度おいしい ~ #鮒ずし 茶漬け Fermented Funazushi Chazuke rice... ❤️😋 OK so I made this myself this time & I didn't had a Tea pot as prop either in the room, also since I am in Kyoto 京都 not Shiga 滋賀 this time where this Funa zushi/sushi is made & is Kyoto's immediate neighbor just next door. It defeats the purpose eating outside at here, not sure if you understand my logic here.. 😛 Coz it's origin is just a train ride away from Kyoto but I had no time this trip

【先斗町ますだ 京都, Kyoto】I personally thought this Meal, which is based on more sophisticated versions of traditional Kyoto Obanzai #おばんざい cuisine, was fantastically presented & cooked. Opened around 30 years already, there is little wonder to its pedigree as the current generation has trained under the roughly 450 Years Old, Michelin 3 🌟🌟🌟 rated Hyotei (瓢亭) in Kyoto. Here are some more dishes we had on the night, it has a No Photos policy but luckily we were granted 1 photo per person each by Owner Chef 📸😊 for memory after asking :

•ゆば真蒸 - Yuba Shinjo, same as what's in an Owan お椀, but without soup & a slightly different Kanji word
•山ふぐ Yama Fugu, but presented differently here & not served as a Vegetarian Sashimi style. It's been pre-fried then rehydrated
•もろこ南蛮漬 (琵琶湖) Small Fish from Biwa Lake, Shiga Prefecture next to Kyoto
•東寺ゆば A Traditional Yuba Tofu Sheet Roll with fillings

It's not easy to translate all Kyoto food into English to be honest, they just have their own Vocabulary, almost poetic in meaning rather than descriptive. 【和栗専門 紗織 京都 Saori, Kyoto Japan 🇯🇵 】🍏🍎🌰 Apart from Mont Blanc, I think I personally liked their Seasonal Fruit & Japanese Chestnut Parfait 和栗と季節の果物パフェ even more.
