【#Autonomies】The “Global Research Network on Comparative Territorial Autonomies” (GRN-CTA) is an academic network dedicated to fostering cross-regional research collaborations in the field of comparative autonomies studies.

Based in The Academy of Hong Kong Studies at The Education University of Hong Kong and comprised of scholars and researchers from territorial autonomies worldwide, the GRN-CTA drives the following research projects:

【#香港研究HKStudies】我的學術夢想，是為香港在比較政治文獻，找到一個位置。去年，幸運地拿到研資局「人文學及社會科學傑出學者計劃」的百萬元撥款，可以起動這個研究網絡；更幸運是找到《Nations & Nationalism》的編輯一條敦子教授跟我拍檔，還有16名來自各地自治政體的學者加入研究團隊。
稍後我們會建立全球首個比較自治政體數據集，也會編撰《羅德里奇 比較自治政體手冊》。有興趣的學術朋友可以留下你的電郵，我再想想如何讓更多人一起參與這個研究網絡。我會將香港建成比較自治政體的研究根據地！

My academic dream is to secure a place for Hong Kong in comparative political literature. Last year I was lucky to get a million grant from the RGC "Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme" to kick-start this research network. Even more fortunately, I have "Nations & Nationalism" Editor Prof. Atsuko Ichijo to partner with me and 16 scholars from worldwide autonomies to join the research team.
We are going to compile a comparative autonomies database and edit the "Routledge Handbook of Comparative Territorial Autonomies". For those scholar friends who are interested in this field, please leave your email and I will think about how to engage more people in this research network. I will make Hong Kong a research hub for comparative autonomies studies!

【#香港研究HKStudies】如何把香港研究推向世界？幾年前讀文獻時，發現憲法學者廣泛研究「自治政體」，但這個概念卻很少政治學者研究，一直在想這應該是把香港放在比較政治脈絡的方向。埋首耕耘了幾年，幸運地得到羅德里奇出版社的支持，將開展《羅德里奇 比較自治政體手冊》的大型出版項目。除了這本重量級著作，還有更爆的相關項目稍後再公布。我的目標，就是令香港成為比較自治政體的研究根據地。

How to promote Hong Kong Studies to the world? Several years ago, I found that constitutional legal scholars have extensively researched territorial autonomies, but few political scientists have worked on this field. So I wondered if this is a good way to position Hong Kong in comparative political research. Fortunately, my idea was supported by Routledge and they agree to publish a Routledge Handbook of Comparative Territorial Autonomies. Apart from this book project, I will soon roll out related initiatives on territorial autonomies. My objective is to make Hong Kong a research hub for comparative autonomies studies.
