Did I look like that in 2016 and wasn’t satisfied? After 2 pregnancies, my waist gained a few inches but did my shoulders expand too? My belly button is saggy and my linea nigra is still very visible after so many months! 😩
On a happier note, Aaron turns 18 months this July and I feel like I am seeing more progress in regaining my pre-pregnancy body, fitness strength and flexibility! I took longer than usual because I haven’t been consistent. There were weeks I would clock 4 classes a week, some weeks I did nothing at all - yet I still ate cookies and chips for supper 😝 I guess its true when they say abs are made in the kitchen.
I still can’t give my 100% in every class because of my lack in stamina. Can’t and don’t have the confidence to do 50% of the poses I used to be able to. But the best thing I can do for myself is to get up and show up on the yoga mat and work towards it. We're all a beautiful, wonderful work-in-progress. Embrace the process!

Tripod headstand, Salamba shirshasana (sirsasana).
Tip 1: never jump into this pose! It’s dangerous for your neck shoulders and back.
Tip 2: the soft part of your head should be on the group. Measure 7 fingers from your third eye (middle of eyebrows). Massage the spot on your head where the 7th finger lands to get a feel of where to place the head.
Tip 3: strong shoulders pushing away from the ground and not collapsing your body to your head. Your head should only carry 20% of the weight.
Tip 4: engage your core to lift your legs up on the inhale. Imagine there is a block between your legs and you’re trying to squish that block. Toes pointed upwards.
If you made it to the centre line where you feel light YAY! Mine is still a work in progress. Try to stay up for at least 5 breaths or 30 seconds !
What’s this pose good for?
1. Increases focus
2. Relieves stress
3. Increase blood flow to the eyes and scalp and head (duh!)
4. Improves digestion!
5. Helps to flush out adrenal glands

1) Squat with Single Arm Shoulder Press
2) Bent Over Row to Deadlift
3) Lunge & Twist
4) Plank Row Push-up
5) T-Raises
6) Full Crunch with Leg Raise
Repetitions: 10 - 12
Sequence: Repeat 2 sets.
Total Workout Time: 20 mins
To progress:
- Repeat a total of 3 - 4 rounds.
- Lift heavier
- Take shorter break in between each exercise.
