it was an honour to film in this nature reserve. last year, deforestation rates averaged at 1 football field of rainforest lost per 6 seconds, with 1.8 gigatonnes of total related CO2 emissions (wri.org). we need to do much more to truly stop the environmental damage, but there is some progress - between 2015 and 2020, the rate of deforestation was estimated at ~10 million hectares per year, down from 16 million hectares per year in the 1990s (fao.org). let’s keep trying our best in our daily lives to be #fortheplanet 💚
