#'90年にテクノソフトが発売したSTG作品であり、シリーズ第三作目。
IIの発売時アンケートで横スクロールステージに支持が集まった事から、本作からサイドビュー固定専用ゲームとなった経緯がある。
難易度はNORMAL、HARD、MANIAの3段階、武器は全5(+2)種類、
高難易度だがパターンを構築し、繰り返していけば確実に突破できる作り。一見すると理不尽にも思える場面もあるが、攻略法さえつかめば初期装備状態であっても、ギリで抜けられる絶妙な調整。

BGMはテクノソフトに所属していたサウンドクリエイター3名が担当。
