Neon brightens the darkened sky
The pinks and blues flicker nearby
Winding streets below
With asphalt aglow
As cars go
Speeding by
Roads illuminated in red
From the traffic lights overhead
A corporation sign
With a bold design
Makes chrome shine
Far ahead
A facade disguised so pretty
Perfectly hides all the gritty
Shrouding locals who
Have dreams to pursue
Welcome to
Night City!

If you want to see Toronto’s oldest electric elevator then you must need to visit this wonderful building called Gooderham. This is also known as Flatiron building. The Gooderham Building is currently being used for office space, complete with a pub in the basement. Behind this building there is a small cute park called Berczy Park. You can take a break after walking around the area and enjoy a short reprieve sitting in this park while enjoying an interesting and beautiful mural painted on the back side of Gooderham building.
Do you know the design of Gooderham’s building was the inspiration for another famous Flatiron Building? Can you tell in which city it’s located?

Have you been to MNAC?
Those who haven’t been yet, Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) is the national museum of Catalan visual art. It is located in the Palau Nacional of Montjuïc, or National Palace of Montjuïc. The art collection of this museum is envious. I especially enjoyed the Romanesque wing with the frescos from all the abandoned Catalan churches.
After experiencing the precious collections of this museum, you can relax on its terrace to have a great city view and sunset.
If you are someone like me who avoid crowds then Summer perhaps not the right time to visit Barcelona. I learned it the hard way. 🤣
And finally end the excursion enjoying a fantastic water show outside the museum at evening.
BTW, if you want to visit the museum without paying then visit on Saturdays after 3 pm. I learned it day after visiting the Museum. 😐 However, the museum is closed on Mondays, so save your Monday for the shopping. 😉

Grand place is the only area that I really enjoyed exploring in Brussels. When I went there, weather wasn’t much in my favour. Those were pretty chilly days for July, and you can see how stormy it was. However, nothing could deter me from exploring the city!
During traveling, I stay pretty flexible. Mentally, I am always prepared to face unforeseeable incidents. Even though my plans go south, I don’t let it dampen my excitement. I accept it and try to make the best out of it.
Can you adapt the sudden changes during traveling? How do you handle if thing doesn’t work your way?
Quick facts on Grand Place:
1. It is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1998;
2. It’s still called the “Grote Markt” in Dutch which literally means the “Big Marketplace.”
3. The history of the Grand Place dates back to the 11th century;
4. It is located at the very centre of the city;
5. The Grand Place was completely destroyed in the late 17th century by the bombardment of French army;
6. The square stopped being a marketplace in the late 1950s;
