All that we have been given is from the mercy and bounty of Allah, only He has the power to give and He has the power to take away, He makes these blessings possible in our lives, and they are not a result of our power and effort, nor are we able to retain them if Allah wills to take them away. Absolute and complete power belongs to Allah alone. When we acknowledge this and say these words when we admire or like a blessing, it becomes a means of protection and preservation of those blessings!

Plantations of Paradise:
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "Increase in the plantations of Paradise, for its water is sweet, and soil is good, so increase in its plantations." They said, "What are its plantations?" He said, "MashaAllah, laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billah.” [Saheeh al-Targheeb].

A Treasure from the Treasures of Paradise:
Abu Musa (ra) said that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said to me, "Shall I not direct you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise?" I said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" He (saw) said, "(Say) 'Laa hawla wa la quwwata illaa billah'." [al-Bukhari].

A Gate from the Gates of Paradise:
The Prophet (saw) said to Qays bin Sa’d bin Ubadah, "Shall I not inform you about a gate from the gates of Paradise?" He said, "Of course!" He (saw) said, "Laa hawla walaa quwwata illaa billaah.” [al-Tirmidhi].

Expiation of Sins:
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “There is not anyone upon the earth who says, ‘Laa ilaaha illAllah, wAllahu akbar, wa laa ḥawla wa laa quwwata illaa billah' (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, and there is no might nor power except with Allah), except that his sins shall be pardoned, even if they were like the foam of the sea.” [al-Tirmidhi].
.
Supplication for Guidance, Sufficiency, and Protection:
The Prophet (saw) said, "Whoever says (upon leaving his house), 'Bismillahi tawakkaltu 'alAllah, wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billah' (I begin with the Name of Allah, I trust in Allah, and there is no might or power except with Allah), it will be said to him, 'You are guided, sufficed and protected.' And the devil will go far away from him.” [al-Tir
