Took so many gorgeous pictures in Kyoto with my new @googlepixel XL 3 but I didn’t have time to edit them yet! Had a really good time there and autumn is just starting so the maple trees are turning red 😍🍁🍂 So insanely picturesque! I saw a red bush so I actually went to lie down on the floor and put my head on it for a photo lol 😂 #verydiulian

I was actually taking selfies when @thecheesecakeproject saw me and helped snap this shot after putting her maple leaf (she had one at hand for photos lol) on me 😝 I must say it’s very pretty but the more I look at it the more it looks a bit corpse-like hahaha wtf anyway note to my mortician please make sure my deathbed makeup looks at least this good thanks 😅😅

"Wonderland" began in the summer of 2009 and is created in memory of my mother, who died in 2008 of cancer. I wanted to create pictures that people would lose themselves in, projecting their own feelings onto the visual fable portrayed.
In December 2011, I left my 11-year career as a fashion designer behind and dedicated my future to finishing the series and producing a book and exhibition.
Below: this deeply personal image was a turning point in series, where the heroine Katie decides to turn her back on the fantasy of the world she is in, and begins the long journey home. The cloak was made by myself from hundreds of natural colored bright yellow leaves two days before the shoot. I photographed the scene in a red wood to create the vivid contrast.
