Good morning!
Does your little love playdough as much as Ella Grace does?
Here’s one of our favorite toddler-friendly no-cook recipes that we love! ❤️
—-
NO-COOK PLAY DOUGH
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup fine sea salt
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tbsp oil
1 cup HOT water + natural or food coloring
2-3 drops essential oil (optional)
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt and cream of tartar.
2. Make a well in the middle and add oils and natural colored water. (If making with your teeny tiny, this step requires help as the water should be hot, hot, hot!)
3. Using a spatula, mix very well. Dough will seem very sticky and questionable, don't panic, continue mixing and letting it cool down until it is safe to touch.
4. Knead well and it will be awesome beautiful play dough!
5. Store in an airtight container.

NATURAL FOOD COLORING
Although not as bright, if your little one has allergies or you want to stay as natural as possible, here are some food-based coloring ideas!
yellow : turmeric powder
blue : butterfly pea flowers
purple : butterfly pea flowers + lemon juice // pink : red dragon fruit
orange : carrots or vit c tablet + turmeric powder
green : pandan or fresh herbs
Organic ingredients or not? It's completely up to you.

WHAT KIND OF OILS TO USE?
I like to use a neutral oil like olive oil if I'm pairing it with essential oils (therapeutic and antibacterial). You can also use coconut (yum!!), jojoba, argan, grapeseed, sweet almond or even plain ol' cooking oil.
Ps. You can find cream of tartar (not tartar sauce) in the baking aisle. It helps to keep the dough soft and pliable so it's nice to squish and pinch and roll and create!

5 tips for baking w a toddler (without losing your sanity!)
1. Keep it simple - box mix, easy recipes, things you know they can handle w very little intervention and not too complicated that they lose their interest and attention span.
2. Plan ahead and prep before you invite them to the baking space - clear off the counter, premeasure ingredients so all they have to do is dump in (eg I precracked the eggs into a bowl or else I knew Ella Grace would want to help me and we would have shell everywhere or she would dump flour into another bowl while I did it etc) I also chose to mix by hand instead of using the mixer because I knew she would enjoy it more and it would be less chaos!
3. Walk them through what you are making and your expectations of behavior and "rules" - eg. Ella Grace was standing on her high chair/step chair (Tripp Trapp) and my rule for her is that she has to stay on so she is safe and I remind her of that before we start.
4. Limit temptations - remember that they have very very poor impulse control so instead of battling it out or asking them to go against what they can't really control, limit temptation. Move things out of the way that you don't want them to touch, have a confident momentum of what is expected to happen then follow through. I also don't let her in the kitchen when the oven is on or I'm taking something out or when I was cooling the cupcakes because although she's a good listener, why tempt her?
5. Have fun! Enjoy the process, laugh together, pick your battles, try not to stress. Honestly, if it wasn't because we actually had to sell these, I would have totally let her spoon it all into the trays! 😂 Remember, they're not meant to be perfect, it's not what you both will remember for years to come. It's that simple memory of baking w mama in the kitchen just because. Xx
Part 1 of baking w a toddler w mama's mad baking skillz : box mix edition!! Totally not organic, totally not healthy, totally fun! 😂❤️

Fluffy, moist, and slightly sweet 😋
Mix and steam in a frying pan. Very EASY!
Delicious and addictive Gluten Free / Vegan Recipe!!!
Healthy baby/toddler snack idea as well 💖
FYI: Foil Cupcake Liners I used:
https://amzn.to/2YcEEoc
---------------------------------
Steamed Rice Cake (Gluten Free / Vegan)
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 20min
Number of servings: about 5 thick foil cupcake liners (about 3-inch-wide)
Ingredients:
100g (about 2/3 UScup) rice flour
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
100ml (about 1/2 UScup) soy milk
2 tbsp. cooking oil
a few drops of vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Put rice flour, granulated sugar and baking powder in a bowl, and mix with a whisk.
2. Add soy milk, cooking oil and vanilla extract, and mix well.
3. Spoon the mixture into the thick foil cupcake liners up to 80% full. Drop them lightly on the counter to raise the air bubbles out of the batter.
4. Place them in a frying pan. Add hot water up to 1/3 of the height. Put on high heat until water boils. Turn the heat down to medium, cover with a lid wrapped in a wet cloth to absorb water and prevent the water from dripping onto the cakes, and cook for 10 minutes.
5. Remove the lid carefully. Place the cakes on a wire rack to cool.
*Keep the water boiling while steaming to make fluffy cakes.
*Depending on the shape of the cups you use, your cake may crack, but it is OK!

Hello Youtube Family,
Today’s Vlog:
Baking With Mommy,
Non Sexy Bouncing,
Hubby & Wifey In Sync,
Dim Sum WHAT?
Since I can't walk for long periods and getting up from a chair has somehow become a challenge, I've been feeling guilty as I have been unable to do exciting things with my family. Luckily, Isaac seems to enjoy afternoons baking with his mama. Yep... the baking is back, guys!! In my defense, they are chiffon recipes so they are lighter and low in sugar O.o
Do you think you are in sync with your partner too? It's been happening WAY TOO MUCH lately!
Love, the Bubz family xo

How to Order My Cookbook from Amazon Japan:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWsrMmA7AnI
Tamago Boro (Egg Biscuits) are very popular snack in Japan, especially among kids (from 7 month babies to toddlers)!
Very crunchy when you bite, and melts in your mouth when you suck :)
---------------------------------
Tamago Boro (Egg Biscuits)
Difficulty: Super Easy
Time: 30 min
Number of servings: 40~60 pieces
Ingredients:
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp. sugar
8 tbsp. (about 70g) potato or corn starch
milk
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 356F (180C).
2. Place an egg yolk and sugar in a bowl and mix well with a spatula.
3. Add starch, then mix. Add milk a teaspoon at a time until the dough becomes one soft and smooth ball.
4. Pinch off a small portion of the dough and roll it into a small ball, about 0.4 inch (1 centimeter) in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5. Bake in the oven at 356F (180C) for about 15 minutes.
You can keep the biscuits in an air-tight container with silica gel for 3 days at room temperature.
