Sweet dreams, my dear.
It's the first time in 4 years and 8 months that this boy is not sleeping on the same bed as me.
Yup, this baby has been co-sleeping with me since Day 1 and while we had prepared and set up a room for him when we shifted to our new home (while his sisters share the other bedroom), he has been reluctant to move over. This is the boy who still likes to hug Mama, give lots of kisses and cuddle when we go to bed every night. To be frank, he is not the only one who doesn't wanna let go because I think the day he says he doesn't need me anymore, I am gonna cry.
Anyway, we decided to take the first step towards his independence by getting him his very own bed. We got this from @ikeasingapore today and this was the cheapest kids bed we could find - the entire solid wood bed frame cost only $79. #notsponsored
It is a simple one but good enough for our needs, and even the sisters can fit into it too. Haha. Yup, both of the girls were very happy too because they said this means they can also bunk in my room from time to time, especially when Papa is away, and I can have all the kids sleep with me. I really don't mind though, for I know fully well this will not last till their adulthood and while they still like to squeeze and snuggle, I am all for it.
So where is the bed placed? Well, the only place where the boy will have it for now - right beside mine. Haha. Yup, which means we are still gonna co-sleep for a while more. This sweet boy said "Make sure one side of my bed is not blocked so I can still see you and hold your hand when I sleep, Mama." Awwww. #不疼你都难
It might be a baby step but this is still a milestone worth remembering for me. You might be getting taller, bigger and stronger, dear Asher, but you will always be the baby boy I love so, so much.
P.S. I still love watching my kids sleep, there's something so surreal, peaceful and satsifying in seeing their faces and wondering what their dreams are all about.
