Congratulations to our swimmers Yip Pin Xiu and Theresa Goh, for breaking records at the International Paralympic Committee Swimming European Open Championships in Funchal, Portugal!
Last December, Pin Xiu set a new world record at the ASEAN Para Games (bit.ly/23tYPqy). She has just done it again - twice! She broke her own record for the 50m backstroke (S2) and set another world record for the 100m backstroke (S2). She also set Asian records for the 50m and 100m freestyle (S2). Her teammate and good friend Theresa was also in top form, setting a new Asian record in the 100m breaststroke (SB4).
Our athletes trained very hard to wear national colours at this competition. Pin Xiu and Theresa show that Team Singapore can do great things. Keep the flag flying high! - LHL
