Bersempena Hari Pencegahan Bunuh Diri Sedunia hari ini, marilah kita bersama-sama mengambil tahu dan peka dengan keadaan ahli keluarga, rakan-rakan, jiran tetangga dan kenalan kita. Sentiasa bertanya khabar dan luangkan masa sekiranya mereka memerlukan tempat untuk berkongsi cerita mereka.
We must CARE about challenges faced by our own kin, our friends, our neighbours. Suicide can be prevented but it’s important for everyone to play a role. Look out for each other because through action we can create hope. Help is always available. Ask, listen and stop the stigma. We can save a life if we just pay attention to the people around us.

MINDA OVER MATTER - PROTECTING YOUR MENTAL HEALTH DURING CRISIS
Social distancing, strict movement control orders and virtual meetings have become the new normal since the COVID-19 outbreak last year and the pandemic has been taking a toll on people's mental health. Studies have also shown that the number of people thinking about suicide could increase, given that the pandemic has been continuing for over a year and there seems to be no end in sight.
Amid this situation, our local government and NGOs across the nation are working on suicide prevention measures to protect the lives of the people out of concern that social isolation and economic difficulties could lead to an increase in the number of suicides and mental depression.
On this special episode of #SundayNightWithAH, we are going to have a special session moderated by Ainie Haziqah between Happy Bank Crew (Rehanna Razif as representative), a local based Malaysia NGO and Marina Che Jaafar, a mother and mental health advocate to talk about the importance of increasing the understanding around mental health awareness and putting to a stop on the stigma surrounding it.

Things I would tell my younger self? 🤔💭 Be proud of who you are are and how you look, gal! 💪🏻 Growing up as a 13 year old, I had classmates make fun of my darker skin color, my button nose; and even my thick bushy hair (coz it looks like a broom! 🧹). They would make jokes of my hair just because it was different from the rest. I was so affected I couldn’t bear to look at my own reflection coz I hated everything about myself 💔 But I guess those experiences molded me into the person I am today, elephant skin thick and all because those that matter dun mind, and those that mind never matter ❤️
