"History will absolve us"
Submission of Lee Cheuk Yan to the Court
Your Honour, I plead guilty but I’ve done no wrong in affirming the rights of people to peaceful procession and I believe history will absolve us. May I give you more on my background so as your honour can understand why I decided to march with the people for the future of Hong Kong.
As a Christian, during Easter when the scripture was read, I was reminded how Christ went to meet his fate on the cross, sacrificing for mankind to reconcile sinners with God. From His arrest to his prosecution to his death sentencing by Pilate, he was a political prisoner who committed no crime apart from seen to be a threat to the Jewish Hierarchy by serving the poor and oppressed and preaching the good news.
Throughout history of mankind, the rights that humankind now enjoyed were pioneered by political prisoners from Gandhi to Martin Luther King to Nelson Mandela. I was the Chairman of Hong Kong anti apartheid movement back in the 80s and I always remember the determination of Nelson Mandela when he said during his trial back in 1963: “an ideal for which I am prepared to die for.”. His ideal was the equality for black South African and then he spent 27 years in jail. I was thrilled that in 1994, he was elected President of South Africa, giving hope to oppressed all over the world that justice can be achieve through the persistent struggle of the people.
I went to length about his inspiration to me personally because I started my activism starting 1978 for labour rights and democracy. My lifetime ideal is the empowerment of the poor and oppressed to speak out, to rise up for their rights. Whenever the oppressed assert their rights to fight for their dignity, I feel myself also empowered and inspired to continue the difficult struggle and challenges facing Hong Kong. I asked myself, what is my life without the struggle. The struggle is my life, I cannot imagine my life without it. It had been forty three years of struggle for me and your Honour must understand my deep felt pain and sufferings to see how the State Power had been using brute force against the people and the sacrifices of so many Hongkongers who were injured, jailed or exiled, also to witness the deprivation of the basic rights of the people and the regression in democracy. I saw my ideal crumbling but I will continue the struggle even though darkness is surrounding us. It is an ideal for which I am prepared for any sanction.
Your Honour may say the law is the law, I seems not show any remorse in breaching law in this trial for August 31st. I hope Your Honour understand the utmost importance I put on the rights to freedom of expression through speech or assembly. This is the only avenue the weak and oppressed can have to right the wrongs on them. If deprived, I will call this systemic violence on the people and I do not want to see Hong Kong rule on the basis of such systemic violence. Therefore I would do my utmost to affirm the rights of people to a dignified and peaceful procession to express themselves.
Your Honour must be passionate about upholding the law and I respect your ideal. I hope I can quote from the late Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg:
“Justices continue to think and can change. I am ever hopeful that if the court has a blind spot today, its eye will be open tomorrow”
I was very impressed with her passion for gender equality and how she fought her whole life for gender equality and was able to achieve so much. Her message was time changes and judges should catch up with time. For Hong Kong, the worst may yet to come, and we need the legal profession to open their eyes to the suffering of the people and reflect on which side the law is with and how to changes with time for the advancement of the rights and dignity of the people.
I humbly submit myself to your sentencing and whatever your sentence, I have no regret for standing up for the rights of the people.

Hyundai was founded by Sung Joo, a South Korean male mosquito, who was born from a farmer's family living in rural area of Kangwon province, south of Korea.
When I was young, Sungju, I dreamed that I wanted to be a student teacher.
But with poverty, he has no capital in education and no chance to follow his intentional dreams.
However, Sung Joo-Yung has been in a youthful businessman.
Because every time he travels to town, he always panting wood from his neighborhood to sell to make money.
What he does regularly when he has a chance to travel to the city.
It's to find newspaper to read, add knowledge.
At this point, that sparked his mind to earn more money to help his life and family get out of poverty.
When I start to see the opportunity that working in the city pays off.
So he plans to go out of the countryside to work in the city.
Sung Jooyung tried to run away from home to work in town many times, but he was taken home every time.
But his 4nd attempt was accomplished.
When his father doesn't come looking for him again.
In the first period, Sung Juyung started working as a laborer at Port in Inchon City.
And next to deliver rice to a rice store in Seoul.
He worked in rice stores with diligence.
And after 6 months of work, I have been promoted to take care of my shop accounting job.
After taking care of accounting job
He's getting more knowledge of business
I have been trusted by the rice shop owner who has health problems to take care of my business instead.
But shortly after, in the early 1939's, Korea took over Japan.
Rice businesses are being coerced to shut down by the Japanese Army.
He decided to bring his experience and money collected to start a carport business in his hometown in Kangwon province.
But the garage business has to shut down again from the orders of the Japanese government.
In conclusion, both rice trading and car garage business that seems to go well. It's not what he expects.
But then fate seems to be taking his side..
Because in 1945 Japan defeated WWII
Make U.S. to take care of the current South Korea or South Korea.
U.S. Entry makes doing business in South Korea more freedom.
It's this time that Sung Juyung was founded Hyundai in 1947
Initially, Hyundai started a construction business.
Because Sung Juyu, Mosquitoes South Korea needs to be restored after war ends.
One of the factors that made Hyundai grow well in the first period is because South Korea's government had several construction projects and restoration projects such as expressway, port construction and dams.
Hyundai is the winner of the South Korean government's multi-project auction.
Including other projects from the U.S. government
Later in 1965, Hyundai took first offshore road construction job.
This is a road building project in south of Thailand during Pattani and Narathi province.
Hyundai group's key step is to establish Hyundai Motor in 1967
Which today, Hyundai Motor became South Korea's largest automobile manufacturing company.
In 2018, Hyundai Motor was the world's 5th highest manufacturing company.
In 2019, Hyundai Motor proceeds 2.8 million baht, profit 83,000 million baht and now it's worth the company more than 1 trillion baht.
Hyundai group present in various businesses
Such as construction contractor, manufacturing and selling cars, retail, financial services.
Which, if all businesses are integrated into one company, the Hyundai group is considered South Korea's largest business group.
Even today, Sung Joo-yung is gone.
But his journey on his hard path to success will inspire many people.
So if we are facing difficulties now
Try to develop yourself and find a path forward.
Like the example of Sungjoo, mosquitoes from being a farmer's son, poor status can step up as the founder of Hyundai Group, South Korea's giant company nowadays..

Babab lantai. Dah dah. Mama da...
Continue ReadingToday I want to share the knowledge that I got from Rose's audio on how to educate children to be responsible. Starting from the smallest things. If you want children to be responsible children, simple things like this need to know and care.
It's normal if you don't hear that there are parents who blame something else as a way to persuade their children to cry when they fall
⁉️❌ ′′ Ha.. this floor makes mama's child fall. Floor babab. Bye. Mama already hit the floor. Poor mama's child. This floor is bad for mama's child to fall."
The long term effects are scary. When we are used to comfort our children in this way it will make our children
😱 Like to blame others for their own faults
😱 He did wrong accusing others
😱 Do wrong, don't know what to do
😱 Those who are angry can get angry again, parents
When we move mistakes to other objects like the floor, we actually teach our children
To not take responsibility that he is wrong and not careful. Oh God, when I hear the fear, waliyazubillah may we all be kept away from this way of educating.
WHAT DO PARENTS HAVE TO DO?
1 ️⃣ No matter the age of the child, when they cry such pain, come to them and find out where the pain is.
2 ️⃣ Read the prayers and use the way Rasulullah teaches when a body member is sick. Put your hands on the sick side. Read bismillah 3 times then read it:
I seek refuge in Allah and His ability from the evil of what I find and beware
I seek refuge in Allah and His power from the bad things that I am feeling and what I am worried about (HR. Muslim).
Blow and rub the sick parts with prayer. Full of weight and love.
3 ️⃣ After that, talk and remind him softly so that he will be more careful next time. ′′ Be careful okay next time ′′
If it's been more than 3 years, you may ask what he learned from falling. But ask softly without making him feel uncertain guilt. Feeling guilty. If we do it until he feels guilty, no good learning happens.
4 ️⃣ Avoid saying ′′ You deserve it, mama has already said it!" ❌
Rose's mother always says, we want to educate children with noble character not only know how to treat children but need to care about small things like this.
❤️❤️ EXAMPLE OF SENTENCE THAT WE CAN PRACTICE TOGETHER
′′ Love fell because of running just now and didn't look at the floor there was water spilled? Pain? Meh Ummi read the prayers and blow first. Next time be careful okay. It's okay, strong girl ′′
′′ So that next time it won't happen, what do you want to do? What is the love of learning from that mistake." (This additional question may ask a child who has been 5 years old. ))
🥰 The key is that the child takes responsibility for his mistakes. Because he takes responsibility, then he can change the situation.
You can do it. Xoxo
That's it,
FAIZATUL IMAN BINTI MAKPOL
Let's avoid accidentally teaching children to be irresponsible children.

Taiwan Gay Pride in Taipei began with the first parade happening in 2003 with only 20,000 participants. Last year’s parade reported around 137,000 people attending. Today I want to explain the history of Taipei’s Gay Pride, the largest in Asia and the first in the Chinese community.
Also, did you know that Pride in Taipei is different from Western countries? From the time to how the parade works to what people wear, I explain the differences between Western Pride celebrations and Taiwan’s unique parade. I also share my own story from my first experience at Taiwan Pride.
Finally, today I introduce my new clip-end segment, One Video, One Bit of Taiwanese. I’m going to try to make this a recurring part of my videos where I teach a Taiwanese (Minnan or Southern Hollies) word, saying, or sentence related to the content at the end of each video. Watch to the end to see this segment~

i really hope you're actually willing to watch the entirety of this HAHA i know it's long but it's an important conversation to have, especially towards the later half of this video. feel free the turn the playback speed up or break this up into two sessions :'-) also the storytime is pretty fun we haven't done this in a while hor
(that guy that was talking about his secondary school swimming days talked about it non-stop without even LOOKING at me, much less including me in the conv non-stop FOR NEARLY AN HOUR ok)
btw, just for clarification because i didn't finish my thought, i meant to say at 40:58 that "i have experienced a lot of neglect and complete disregard of me and what i want and need in the relationship so i know i absolutely cannot tolerate that kind of behaviour anymore" but ya i couldn't complete my sentence because it's quite difficult to say without bringing all the memories and feelings back
if you haven't watched this you wouldn't know this story's context
