There is only One Statue in the Statue Square and he is Sir Thomas Jackson, the chief manager of the HSBC Limited in its early years.
The square is originally named the Royal Square,
where statues of various British royalty were found, including Queen Victoria, Queen Alexandra and King George V. Most of these statues were taken away by the Japanese forces during World War II to be melted in Japan.
Some of the statues were returned after the war ended and relocated to other parks in Hong Kong.
Statues of Sir Thomas Jackson became the only statue in the square, standing right in front of the HSBC headquarters in Hong Kong.
