And then go to sleep every night thanking the love i have received all day. That's my self-care routine. It doesn't require much time, but the rewards are amazing!

When she saw me last night, after not seeing me for a week, she ran towards me, hugged me so tight and screamed into my ear "I MISS YOU AH AH! I MISS YOU, YOU KNOW!! And then kissed me so hard on my cheeks!

(She calls me ah ah because when she was little, i figured Sheila will take too long for her to address me. So i made her call me LaLa instead. But that didn't happen too, bcos she couldnt made L sounds yet. So im stuck w Ah Ah. And i love this special name she gave me!)

I melted.

This girl, sometimes tires me out with her energetic and creative brain that comes up with the most challenging questions and games for a 3 year old. But i have absolute softspot for her, and can never say no to her even though it means playing the same game with her for 30mins. I love watching her grow and love growing with her. Thank you Alexis for always making me the winner! (Inside joke, lol)

If we open our eyes, inspirations are everywhere.

When I was hiking up Tiger's Nest in Bhutan, I was truly inspired by 2 Bhutanese. In the name of love for their country, they would hike up Tiger's Nest 3-4 times a week just to pick up trash left behind by climbers, VOLUNTARILY.

And I thought, Hey! i can do that for my country too! And just like that, @deon.woo and I have decided that every time we go hike, we would bring along a trash bag and tong to clean up our home.

Although I didn't do it for anyone's recognition, but it was really encouraging as fellow hikers would thank us along the way when they see us picking up trash.

All I can think of is, if everyone do their part for the environment, the world would really be a better place. And of cos, this habit isn't just confine to the mountains. We can do our part, no matter where we are, what country we are in.

Also, inspired by an Australian family. We have started to greet every climbers that we walk by. One day, as we were hiking, 2 little girls about 4 and 6 years old that came from the opposite direction, greeted us with a really welcoming and friendly HELLO! Immediately, I told Deon we should also cultivate such manners for our future kids too! But I think too, before we do get them to do it, we have to start doing it ourselves. Because it's always best to show by example.

The experience is quite funny, because so many people would be stunned by our greeting. Although they'll always greet back shyly.

Our hike these days are filled with so much fun. Because i care for the park like it's my home, and I treat the fellow hikers like my friends.

Monamis Harps was founded in the Summer of 2012.

The name of the ensemble is directly translated from French ‘ Mon Amis ’, meaning ‘ my buddies ’. Moreover, the name is intentionally misspelled in forming a complete unity.

Furthermore, the talents and characters of the members are varied ; graceful with precise while elegant softness versus heartfelt boldness with the harmonization attuned by the Director.

The sole purpose is to indulge in a fulfilled moment with the audience.
