In wedding planning, we can never achieve perfection in everything. For HK couples, compromising on venue is probably quite common.

I have always dreamt of having my Tuscany wedding in a romantic borgo or relais on a hill with a stunning view of rolling hills. But that also meant that quite a few of my close friends may not be able to make it. In my heart, my priority lies in having those dear to me to celebrate with me.
.

When I decided to move on to looking at Thailand, my heart was set on Samujana in Koh Samui. But in the end, to reduce cost we decided on Phuket. And lucky for me, Rosewood Phuket JUST opened and when I saw their lawn I fell in love- for the intimate feeling that it gives and the sustainable causes that they live by.
Yes their rooms won’t be as spacious as Samujana villas, but sometimes when you are creative enough, you work things around to make it equally pretty (if not more!), eg negotiating with Rosewood to get ready at their presidential suite!

In wedding planning, I find it is a mini trial of life- when you learn to juggle different things, learn what your priorities are, what to compromise on, what happens when things don’t go your way, and how to be creative on working things around and yet still achieving your goals. And most of all, how to accomplish this as a team.

In the end, be proud of yourself!
