It was a great pleasure getting to know Lina Khalifeh and speaking together with her in The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) 香港青年協會 Leaders to Leaders 2017 in Hong Kong. Lina is a humble fighter who founded SheFighter in Amman, Jordan, teaching self-defence to tens of thousands of women in the Middle East through a combination of taekwondo, judo and kung fu.
In 2014, Lina won the “Woman in Business Global Award” organised by the UN in Geneva, and even US president Barack Obama praised her as a role-model in his speech for the “Emerging Global Entrepreneurship” event. She was also famous for being a trainer of Emma Watson.
I am truly impressed with Lina's work in empowering girls and women and will continue to learn from her. We look forward to working together and driving the top agenda of gender equality through sports.
