M A S T E R C L A S S ❤️🤲✨ Here we go again, another eight weeks of unlearning and listening. Another eight weeks of holding sacred space to just slow down and pause. Quietly curious, an unfolding, both for the mamas that I lead and lead me to sacred inner worlds to repair and hold in reverence.
It’s an invitation to come home, to come inside to hidden places and loud thoughts that sometimes explode out when it hurts or we feel lost and overwhelmed.
The intense pressure of motherhood and fatherhood wears on a marriage so we make safe space to play, ask, laugh, cry, see.
Eight weeks and for some, an additional one-on-one centered around science and play, an action plan tailored intimately to their family created over conversation and partnership. Fuel for all the days and weeks after the program, a guide of sorts to remind them of their why and how and what.
We call it a groundbreaking rework of traditional parenting programs. But that’s just really fancy for we do it a little different and start with you. We take the science of what we know and use it to fiercely listen and fight for the child inside and in front of you, and you don’t have to do it alone. We gather together, make mistakes, share our stories, care deeply and cheer each other home.
What does your head and heart know?
Five cohorts in, each one unique and magically special to the little community that they build. I love that they come from around the world and all have such depth and beauty to add. We teach people, not topics. We go rogue. We run wild. We get curious.
For mama, it is a welcome to my heart. Carved out in there is all the mamas and daddies and their little ones that have come before. When you come through the program, you are intimately fought for, genuinely loved, relentlessly believed in. Known and called by name.
September 2021 cohort, we are so excited to welcome you not only to the program but to the village.
We’ve been waiting for you. We are ready. ❤️✨
Let’s grow together. 🌱

MISUNDERSTOOD (Note to self - the momma). Today I understood my child just a little bit more
.
Being a little over 6 years old, exposed to youtube, netflix, and a broader social circle (10 year old next door being her "hero"), she has become a lot more expressive and vocal.
.
Sometimes though, you forget she is still a 6 year old who struggles to tell you what/ how she is feeling, so she acts out, or uses the wrong words, or throws a tantrum.

We were rushing out the door and as usual, Chloe was dragging her feet, as i reached the dining room I saw what she had created for me - a bouquet with what little bit of "flowers" (I am ALWAYS NAGGING her NOT to pick stuff off the road/ pavement etc) in her old milk bottle. Normally I'd say something about "dirtying her old bottle" but this day I caught my breath and appreciated her effort.

.
This morning as her papa was already out the door, they were ALREADY late for school, again I lectured her, holding the front door. She mentioned something about our bed, I almost shove her out the door! When I got back to my room, I saw this. She made our bed for us (Again, I always say Chloe NEVER makes her bed). Not the best timing but a 6 year old doesn't necessarily know urgency #my heart #pain

Details. Notice her attention to details
.
STUPID Onions! I'll blame it on the period (sorry TMI)...
So I sit here, 50 minutes after she'd left, feeling like the worst mom ever, as this brave 6 year old at school, is maneuvering through a whole new confusing world, battling a pandemic, under strict SOP, trying to make friends, and ace her Mandarin so her 老师 will make her a banana chocolate loaf with extra chocolate chips as promised.
.
LOOK momma - through HER eyes.
PAUSE and LISTEN, because once you blink, she will no longer be your baby girl.
Chloe is a kind, sensitive soul, and when you feel like nagging or rushing her, look at this post!
.
(I am SO giving her the BIGGEST hug, and ICE CREAM later when I see her!)

PRESCHOOL WARS | We allocated for twenty, a small intimate workshop for parents to come and be filled, refuel, get answers, but instead more than forty came(!!!).
.
Busting at the seams, we rearranged and shuffled, adapting and making room, because oh my heart this is every specialist’s dream - a room full of engaged, wholehearted, hungry to learn and connect, parents and educators that literally showed up and stood up for their littles.
.
Thank you @theodysseymalaysia for continuing to invest and pour into your community. For allowing me to come and show up and stand up with you, for believing in the RACHEAL method and trusting me with your series.
.
It’s a partnership that’s been so special to my heart because they just get it. They create safe space for their parents to explore, learn, play, and really love on them. Thank you Petulia, Justine, and the entire team for what you do.
.
They engaged me for the year, not even knowing exactly what I would do or where I would take the parents, just knowing that at the heart of it was a journey of Respectful Parenting.
.
It’s been amazing and so beautiful to watch these parents and teachers grow and come back and thrive, determined to raise kind, confident, resilient, wholehearted little ones. 😭❤️
