Food tracking is a habit I picked up about 5 years ago when I started training with @movementdynamicsfit but I’ve only started taking it seriously this lockdown as I’ve just been home.
I even go to the extent of weighing all the food and drinks I consume.
I’m thankful for my parents who are so supportive of my fitness journey and do not mind my crazy behaviour!
I use this app called “MyFitnessPal” to track the macros of the food I consume daily.
It gives me info on the % of protein, fat and carbs which makes me more conscious of the food I put into my body. At the beginning, food tracking was a nightmare. I HATED THE PROCESS SO MUCH because it was tedious and it can be quite tricky to track if you’re out dining and sharing food with friends.
However, this process got so much easier since I’ve been stuck at home! So slowly food tracking has become a big part of my life now. I track every single thing that I eat and drink! It’s become an obsession haha
The fun part is, along the way, I actually learned so much about nutrition.
e.g.
100g chicken breast= 3.6g fat & 31g protein
Whereas 100g chicken thighs= 8g fat & 24g protein
This is why I have switched to eating chicken breast instead of thighs/drumsticks as the fat percentage is relatively low.
My current fitness goal is to gain muscle mass & lose fat. I do not starve myself, I eat whenever I feel hungry, but I try to opt for healthier options. So I’ve drastically reduced fried/oily and sugary food.
Of course, balance is key. There are days where I eat desserts as well but I only take a small portion because when I discovered 50g of a tiny slice of yam cake I took the other day carried 200 kcal, I got shocked 😮
So anyways, the top 3 REASONS why my trainer asked me to track my diet are;
1) When I report to my trainer, there is more accountability and thus more discipline
- Having someone to be accountable to increases consistency and ultimately leads to better results
2) I learn more about the food I consume and my eating habits when I put in the effort to track myself
3) When I send my report to my trainer, he is able to learn more about my lifestyle and eating habits which allows him to optimise my programme

[減脂速度太快,會不會容易復胖?]
最近很多學員在分享自己的減脂成果時,不免被其他看到的人說:「妳減這麼快,會不會很容易復胖?」
事實上, #復胖與否跟妳的速度無關, #跟妳的減脂手段和過程有關。甚至研究發現,在8週減去>8%體重以上的人,比<8%的人更容易減重成功,且更容易維持。
依我的研究加上臨床的觀察,復胖與否的關鍵在於過程:
1️⃣ 是否腸道菌相是 #往多樣性增加的方向
—>過去研究發現 #降低的腸道菌多樣性會增加從食物中的熱量吸收(reduced microbiota diversity enhances calorie harvesting)
所以你的「低熱量」減肥方式,如果是讓腸道菌多樣性下降,任憑你的體脂率再低,可能會復胖很快。
2️⃣是否保留最多的瘦肉組織(lean mass)
3️⃣是否有改善肝臟(hepatic)跟周邊(peripheral)胰島素敏感性
—>內臟脂肪跟體脂率可以判斷,所以如果一個減肥法會讓你的胰島素抗性增加,內臟脂肪上升(例如吃肉吃到飽),那還是可能復胖很快。
4️⃣是否容易融入生活變得跟呼吸一樣自然
—>適當的食量、對食物的喜好改變、對食品添加物吃了會不舒服,太鹹太油太甜覺得難吃,這些都是跟腸道菌相關,不用費力,自然改變。
分享一個疫情前回診的54歲女性畢業學員,她只花了一個月就減掉體重的11%,體脂率從30到22%,SMI肌肉質量指數維持不變,從去年9月進入維持期到今年四月的回診, #體重微幅下降 #體脂率大幅下降變成19.6%,肌肉量上升🔝
事實上,在王醫師這裡畢業後的人,追蹤半年以上,即使完全隨心所欲(在完全沒有回診的情況下)的吃,有60%以上的人在半年後維持10%以上的體重下降,而且有 #27%的人比原本體脂率更低😄
遠高於過去維持期研究的16%維持率(一年後有84%的人會復胖😿),讓我更相信維持與否的關鍵,腸道菌真的佔有一定的角色,下一篇來分享一下這兩年最新的腸道菌維持期研究。

[WHY ASIANS ARE 'CUTER' (SCIENTIFIC BREAKDOWN)]
So, here’s a statement: ‘Asians are cuter’.
If you were offended by that, this video is probably not what you think. Everyone has their own opinions of what constitutes as attractive.
But I’m not necessarily talking about ‘attractiveness’ here; I’m talking about ‘cuteness’. Cuteness is a term describing a type of attractiveness commonly associated with youth and appearance. It’s also a scientific concept. So when I say ‘Asians are cuter’, well, they arguably are; and that’s including males, not just females.
Now, compared to adults, common features for infants across all ethnic groups include larger heads, flatter faces, reduction of the brow ridge, hairlessness, thinner bones, reduced muscle mass, smaller physical size, shorter arms, shorter legs, just to name a few - and of course this is largely why people find babies cute. If they didn’t have these features and proportions, they’d more so resemble miniature adults and that’s kind of creepy.

你可能對reduced mass的觀念不是很清楚
以高中來說 reduced mass 比較好的描述應該是這樣的:
「
二質點只受彼此間作用力與反作用力,而不受其他外力時,二質點間的相對運動
與一個質量為reduced mass,受力與二質點間交互作用力相同的假想質點的運動相同
」
簡單的推導如下:
二個質點質量分別為 m1和m2
他們二個分別都只受二者之間的作用力與反作用力,不受其他任何外力
也就是說:
m1a1 = F21
m2a2 = F12 = -F21
因此
a1 = F21/m1
a2 = -F21/m2
(a1-a2) = F21 (1/m1 + 1/m2)
令 1/μ = 1/m1 + 1/m2
則
μ(a1-a2) = F21
然後重點來了:
這個意思是說我們可以假想有一個質量為 μ的質點
當它的受力等於 m2 給 m1的力(F21)時
它的運動就會與 m1 相對於 m2 的運動相同!
這個假想的質點跟實際上的系統一點關係也沒有
它的受力是怎麼來的實際上也不需要去考慮
它完全是我們假想出來的系統,只是藉由這個系統我們可以求出m1和m2的相對運動而已
因此reduced mass的受力,是由原本的系統中m2給m1的力來決定,而和本來的題目
中受力的來源沒有關係
以雙星運動為例
我們假設有一個質量為μ=m1m2/(m1+m2)的質點,它的受力不一定要是重力,
我們可以把它綁在一個特製的橡皮筋上,這個橡皮筋的彈力和長度的關係恰好是
F = - Gm1m2/r^2,而橡皮筋的另一端,就當作固定在我的桌上好了
根據我們前面的推導,這個假想質點的運動就會剛好和m1相對於m2的運動是一樣的
我們只是利用這個假想質點綁在橡皮筋上的系統,去求原系統中m1和m2的相對運動
這就跟我們利用一個假想圓周運動的投影,去求彈簧的簡諧運動一樣
我們不會去問reduced mass的受力是怎麼來而是直接令它等於F21,
就如同我們不會去問假想圓周運動的向心力是什麼,而是直接令它的角速率為√(k/m)
一樣,重點在於我們這樣令了以後,這個假想的運動可以幫助我們去求本來
所要求的本來的運動
