Army officer to be probed for bringing civilians to helicopter base】
(CNA, Apr. 02, 2015) —After a local entertainer posting on social media photographs she took of the cockpit of the Army's AH-64E Apache attack helicopter Wednesday, Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office ordered a probe into a military officer who brought the entertainer to visit the Army base.
Lieutenant Colonel Lao Nai-cheng (勞乃成), deputy head of a helicopter squadron under the Army Special Forces Command, brought Janet Lee (李蒨蓉) and her family to the helicopter base in Longtan District in Taoyuan City on Sunday, according to media reports.
The four photographs that Lee posted on her Facebook account include two showing her sitting in the chopper cockpit.
Lee was criticized on social media and later publicly apologized to what she did on Thursday, as Lao was reprimanded by his unit that same day.
Lao had led a team of 16 military officers to receive training of piloting the Apache attack helicopter in the U.S., including the U.S. Army's Fort Hood base in Texas, for a year and a half 2012-2014, according to a report on worldjournal.com, a U.S.-based Chinese language newspaper.
