My kind of 7 minutes workout at home these days. The husband was laughing at me cause he said I shake my butt so much, but this was exactly what Morgan always asked us to do at Prenatal!

This workout can be done by anyone, the benefits are just the same; just that they are pregnant-friendly! It helps me loosen my body to avoid backaches & body stiffness which are common in pregnancies. Also, during pregnancy, we need to concentrate primarily on strengthening the core. My definition of core here is not abs but the pelvic floor, abdominals, spinal muscles & the diaphragm.

During pregnancy it’s safe and in fact recommended, to keep the “core” strong & healthy. A strong core is needed in order to support the pregnant body, baby, and to help with recovery after birth.

1️⃣Wall-assist shoulder stretch
2️⃣Wide-legged Forward Bends
3️⃣Wide-legged Squats
4️⃣Side bends
5️⃣Downward Dog > Plank
6️⃣Alternate leg lift pulses
7️⃣Cat Cow Spine Stretch
8️⃣Downward Dog > Plank
9️⃣Knee to outer Elbow

Sun Salutation, Surya Namaskar comprises of a sequence of 12 yoga postures. After doing sun salutations almost every day for 3 years, these 12 yoga poses are no longer foreign to me. I know the Sanskrit names, how to do the pose, the benefits but I still feel inquisitive about them everyday.

3 years ago, I learn simple yet important points such as to open my palms, spread my fingers & grip my mat for downward dog. 2 years ago, I was on knees chest chin to increase strength for chaturanga. 1 year ago, I was focused on jump backs into plank & forward bends.

Today, I remind myself to engage the core to jump back into chaturanga & jump into forward bends, slowly. My practice is not perfect, I still can't float into handstands but I see small improvements in my jumps. They are slower & softer.

Sun Salutation despite just 12 poses, 3 years isn't near enough to perfect it. Be a learner fast, a master second & a student always. 🙏🏼

If you want a flat, #toned stomach this simple & sometimes intense #exercise is the best way to go. The #plank is one of the best exercises for core conditioning but it also works your glutes & hamstrings, supports proper #posture & improves #balance. #Tip: The most important element of a good plank is a neutral spine.
Benefits:
-Strengthens the #core, which, in turn, helps reduce lower-back pain
-Increases flexibility in posterior #muscle groups
-Stretches & ultimately relax muscles groups that often become stiff & tense from prolonged sitting
-Strengthens arms & wrists
How To:
1) Plant hands directly under the shoulders (slightly wider than shoulder-width apart) & ankles under heels like you’re about to do a push-up.
2) Engage your core & keep your back straight. Your head should be in line with your back.
3) Relax your neck & shoulders. Neutralize the neck & #spine by looking at a spot on the floor about a foot beyond your hands.
4) Continue to #breathe deeply & smoothly while holding the pose anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 minute. Advanced practitioners & those using the #pose to build stamina can hold for up to 5 minutes.
5) Repeat up to 10 times.
