Visiting old shops in Hong Kong is just like a treasure hunt. That’s why I can’t stop taking photo when I’m in Choy Tung Shing kitchenware in Yau Ma Tei. I know I need to show you what I found inside (𝐬𝐰𝐢𝐩𝐞 👉🏻)!
Here you can find the world-famous Hong Kong waffles 🧇 maker #雞蛋仔 and the big spatula to get tofu pudding. Now I know where do people get the can for storing dried tangerine skin. And...who will still store milk in the big metal jar 🤔
Another thing I like about old shops in Hong Kong - just like my desk - it seems to be very messy but actually they are super organized #亂中有序
Next time when you need to get new kitchenware, why not have a look at these small shops. It is not easy for them to survive in this fast-changing Hong Kong. But when they are gone, part of Hong Kong will be lost forever. (There was a shop selling deities statues, which I have always want to visit, next to the Chot Tung Shing. It is sad to see that it has already been replaced by a fruit store when we visited the street this time.)
