I can’t think of a better wine to open in #HongKong tonight than L’Interdit de B•••n T••••••n.

Part of an experiment to avoid 🌧 before harvest in 2000, when @jeanlucthunevin_valandraud covered half the vineyard with plastic, this wine was vinified separately from the regular Clos Badon. INAO ruled that this had broken the AOC laws - even though there was no rain and the plastic had no effect - so the wine had to be declassified into a #nonvintage #vindefrance. Ever the rebel, Jean-Luc Thunevin designed the label with a pair of 🖐 🤚 behind bars, and named it L’Interdit (forbidden in French), and replaced a few letters from the name.

Today in Hong Kong, something else was declared forbidden by the authorities. Like Monsieur Thunevin, many Hongkongers are rebelling against the ruling.
