臉書一直都在尋找不同的廣告模式。正因為天下沒有免費的午餐，臉書在為大家提供免費服務之餘，賣廣告是他們唯一的生存法則；但因為版位大不同，相比起一般網站，在社交網絡賣廣告，稍一過火，影響了用戶體驗，便很容易得失用戶。

這一邊廂，在「劍橋分析」事件之前，臉書其實已逐步降低Newsfeed上的廣告流量，正如Mark哥曾經開誠布公，宣布希望把Newsfeed帶回到家人及朋友間的互動，加上用戶以手機為主，廣告版位又只剩下Newsfeed的關係，長遠而言，廣告位只會愈來愈矜貴。

另一邊廂，臉書用戶的習慣亦在轉變。從前廣告客戶可輕易靠落廣告增加曝光率，對換成流量之餘，用戶亦相對較願意給你一個「讚」。可是近大半年以來，這用戶生態已此情不再，尤其是視頻廣告，因為始終是被動收看的內容，流量還可以靠廣告催谷，但用戶與品牌間的互動，無論是給個「讚」、留言或點擊，反應一般都大不如前。

但在臉書刊登視頻廣告，用得其所，始終對建立品牌形象更有效；此外，用戶收看視頻的時候，背後有更仔細的數據可供分析行為，方便下一波廣告或re-targeting之用。因此即使「讚」數下降，但仍然值得廣告客戶投資。
