Such power mainly comes from the nature of machine automation and the ability to distill useful knowledge from a large amount of data across different domains, of which we human beings are simply incapable. Applying ML as an automation tool is however counterintuitive to the concept of traditional rule-based automation requiring only straightforward coding and deployment. To make an ML system self-improved so to be fully automatic, a comprehensive and infinite-cycle ML pipeline can take a tremendous amount of effort to set up. In this talk, I will walk through essential challenges in making ML products and practical solutions for the scale-up, from an AI startup's perspective."
