I blinked and it’s time to register my oldest girl in primary school. We’ve decided to enrol Lauren into one of the less popular neighbourhood school because firstly, convenience (means more sleep 😴 for everyone) and also because when I visited the other brand-name school near us, every child I saw, looked mostly like Lauren. I want her to have friends from all walks of life, races and nationalities and the school we picked has handicapped accessible facilities. To me, that shows that the school values and walk the talk on inclusion.
.
My friend who’s a teacher-trainer told me that the school isn’t PSLE driven (nightmare for some but music to my ears) and focuses on all-roundedness and character building.
.
Instead of registering online today, I’m taking Lauren to register physically at the school tomorrow. I hope we like what we see!
.
I don’t think there are right or wrong reasons to selecting a school for your child. It’s a very personal choice but I’m curious (kaypoh lah! 😝) on why you pick a particular school. Do share!
