How to Go from Barely Surviving, to Prospering and Thriving

“The children of Israel ate the manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land. They ate the manna until they came to the borders of the land of Canaan.” (Exodus‬ ‭16:35‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Despite all the complaining and unbelief of the children of Israel, God still rained manna out of the sky to feed them daily. They never lacked provision, and were faithfully fed every day until Joshua brought them entered the promised land.
After that, the manna ceased because God provided food for them through the fruit of the land.

Imagine if the manna only fell when the children of Israel were living by faith. They would be starving daily because they were an exceedingly unbelieving generation!

Praise God that it is by His faithfulness, not our own. He provides daily bread for us as a loving father fulfills the responsibility of feeding his family.

“Yahweh knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied. But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Yahweh shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish— vanish like smoke. The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously. For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off. A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand. I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. All day long he deals graciously, and lends. His offspring is blessed. Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever. For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever.” (Psalms‬ ‭37:18-29‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

In his psalm, David talks about how God takes care of the saints (believers who are righteous in Christ) and feeds them even in the time of evil and in the days of famine.

There is a unique behavior of the saints described in it. They are generous givers, as if they are oblivious to the evil or famine around them. They live by faith in God and not by fear of lack. The seeds they sow in love lead to abundant harvests, such that there is no lack.

Dear brethren, God will surely feed you with daily bread. You’re still alive today because He has been faithful to feed you, and He shall continue to do so.

When God supplies you with seed for food, be wise and don’t just eat all the seeds.
People who always lack usually just spend money without giving or investing.
There is no abundant harvest to expect because there’s no seeds sown.

Even though the children of Israel were always fed by God in the wilderness, they never really prospered abundantly until they were in the promised land and began sowing.

Whenever you receive a new batch of seeds, sow a portion of them and you shall grow and grow until you become very great.
That’s how to move from barely surviving, to prospering and thriving—just like our patriarchs of faith, Abraham and Isaac, who prospered even in times of famine.

“There was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, to Gerar...Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year one hundred times what he planted. Yahweh blessed him. The man grew great, and grew more and more until he became very great. He had possessions of flocks, possessions of herds, and a great household. The Philistines envied him.” (Genesis‬ ‭26:1, 12-14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

We are living in a time of evil and the days of famine, brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Let us be strengthened in faith that we will not just come out of this barely surviving, but prospering and thriving!
Our good Abba God will keep feeding us with daily bread—both spiritual and physical.
The world may have a gloomy outlook for the future, but with God we have a good future and a secure hope!

So many people are afraid today—and understandably so. The world is descending into chaos, groaning for Jesus’ return to set things right.
You can’t psyche fear away. You can only cast it out by hearing messages about God’s love demonstrated through Jesus, so that faith will come.
If there’s any area of unbelief hindering you from believing for your breakthrough, just keep hearing about Jesus. That unbelief will be cast out and you’ll receive your breakthrough.

You can’t expect the breakthrough and skip the hearing part. Desperate need doesn’t force God’s hand.
Someone has to have faith for God’s blessing to be added into your life—whether it’s your faith or someone else’s who is praying for you.

When you hear about God’s word, make sure to hear the Good News—how Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection assures you of forgiveness of sins by faith in Him.

Reading the four gospels yourself can either be one of the most encouraging things, or it can strike untold fear in your heart.

Imagine my fear when as a baby Christian, I read that if your hand or feet cause you to stumble, we should cut them off.
What if everyone misinterpreted Jesus’ intentions for those words and literally did that?
Jesus was actually trying to show us that no one can measure up to the standard of holiness which the Law requires of them.

Without proper teaching and revelation from the Holy Spirit, you’ll always see yourself as having to do this and that in order to be blessed, if not you’ll be severely punished by God.
Instead of building you up, reading the Bible with the wrong perspective can put you under severe depression and bondage.

Went shopping today for a friends bday party. I usually give money the I attend events but this time I wanted to change it up. Discovered some new things about gift receipts vs a regular receipt. Had no idea there was a purpose to it. Hopefully my friend will like the gift if not I don't mind if it's being returned. I'd rather they be happy with the product than be stuck with it.

Hello. We are in the process of deciding to purchase a brand new Tesla car. I certainly do not think we need it because we already have many cars but my spouse thinks otherwise. He is a generous person and always caring towards others so we often bump heads about our financials which plays a huge part in a lot of marriages. It could make or break a marriage. I'm always stressed and worried about what I'm able to contribute and I always give in to make him happy. I guess you can always make money and it's going to be a struggle for us but we will figure something out.
