Kika Bangkok really surprises. This was the first time we sat here to have a proper meal since their opening. Dishes are truly rustic but wonderfully layered, like any modern innovative dish. The meat dishes are sumptuous and rich, so don’t be afraid of the "small plates" term, rather prepare for big and robust flavours.
Not all the dishes are heavy and homely. There are some wonderful light, refreshing and full flavoured dishes to put a pop and zing in your mouth. The fish dishes especially are a sensuous homage to Europe in Asia or is it Asia in Europe?
Be sure to come with mates, this is not a place to find yourself on your lonesome surrounded by multiple mini-sized plates, and your wallet wouldn’t appreciate it either. Definitely in the mood to mingle and tempted to order a bottle of wine or few is the state to arrive in.
Lastly, don’t even think about skipping dessert, it’s another bout of big and bold surprises awaiting you. Which also matches the Sunday funday crowd where they feature their La Vida Kika Gay brunch!
