I’ve grown through all these over the last decade and did it made me more resilient as a person? Yes, it did. Did it break my spirit? Yes, a couple of times.
I’ve been body shamed on many occasions, I’ve had people calling me "chubby", "a little on the heavier side", "fat face", "moti" ( Hindi word for a fat girl) and more. I can list down all the words but it will not make any difference. They find it funny but it was like a spear piercing through my body. For the first few years, I spent time correcting myself to be more aesthetically pleasing, in the normal state. Big breast, round butt, and flat tummy. I had skipped meals, spent numerous hours in the gym and managed to lose over 10 kg.
I looked better as I started wearing prettier clothes and had no extra fat bulging out, here and there.
Then, reality hit me up - this time it was really hard. People were still finding fault in me as they keep commenting on my appearance, body shape, and my intelligence. My breaking point was when they laughed at my mental health issues, I knew I had enough and printed out a huge "NO" sign, flashing to all the online zombies coming at me.
I accepted my body the way it is - only chose to workout and eat clean to live a healthy life. Your body shape isn’t the definition of who you are - or your choices. Your personality defines you. Your ideology defines you. And if someone cannot accept you for who you are then it is time for you to walk out gracefully. Life goes on, and you will move on too - always with immense love for yourself. 🌻🌻🌻 • .
