A little kindness goes a long way.

The kids are wearing shirts with pictures drawn by child patients in KKH. It is especially meaningful for them because having watched Inside the Children's ICU (a five-part series by CNA that documents the medical struggles of kids and how they battle for the right to live), they have been asking about these patients and wondering how we can do anything to help less fortunate kids get back on the road to recovery.

KKH was where the hubby and I were born, where our little girl got stitched when she had a bad fall, where our boy recovered from two bouts of pneumonia. I remember during our last stay, it was Christmas day and with the hubby all dressed up as Santa Claus, we went around delivering presents and balloons to the kids in the wards. Those smiles and pure expression of joy on their faces still stay etched in my mind and remind me that little acts do matter.

As Johnson's Baby celebrates its 125th year, they are partnering with KKH and for every picture posted on Instagram with the hashtags #JohnsonsBabySG and #BetterWorldforBabies, they will donate $1 to the KKH health fund to help needy patients with financial assistance in medical treatments as well as support education, research and disease prevention programmes.

You can post any picture you like but keep your profile public and remember to include the hashtags. Let's all come together to make an effort and lend a helping hand today.

之前跟同事吃飯，不知怎麼搞的，莫名其妙聊起母豬教、女性主義、仇女（仇男）跟性別教育，畢竟在禮拜一中午這個話題實在太正經了，導致坐在身旁剛剛才罵銀行貸款怎麼還沒發下來的女士，忍不住向我們這邊多看幾眼。

我認真覺得，在性別議題上，如果缺乏那種「設身處地」的能力，那就很難很難達到溝通。好像是與生俱來的吧，我一直非常同情生理期的女性，現在回想起來，我的女同學對我說「跟你講是因為你不會拿這種事開玩笑」，我才開始意識到我有這種敏銳，往後我也一直希望可以多了解女性一點，即便不理解（就拿衛生棉吧，我也是菜花開刀完需要墊之後，才知道這件事真的很勞神傷財），但也能多一點體諒。

所以我想到瑪丹娜這首歌「What It Feels Like for a Girl」。這首歌算是他眾多單曲裡知名度較低的，可是當初第一次聽專輯時，除了Music跟American Pie，最有印象的就是這手，它又接在慵懶的Don’t Tell Me後面，好像微微酒醒的一刻，你突然有股無以名狀想哭的心情，很赤裸。諷刺的事，這首歌的MV，後來比歌曲本身還來得有名，因為內容太暴力，所以被禁播。這是瑪丹娜當時老公蓋瑞奇導的，所以媒體專注度很大，現在回想起來，這支MV或許就是因為蓋瑞奇的關係，失去了這首歌原有的細膩吧，所以歌詞跟影像，反而斷開了。

例如，這首歌一開始的獨白就非常棒（摘自The Cement Garden），直到現在，還是我聽過最具有酷兒意識的一段台詞，即便當時連酷兒理論是什麼也不懂，只覺得女主角的話恰恰好點破我們對兩性氣質的盲點。

女孩們可以穿牛仔褲，也可以把頭髮剪短，穿上襯衫跟靴子，
因為女孩可以打扮的很男孩子氣。
但若一個男孩想打扮的跟女孩子一樣，會被認為很丟臉，
那是因為你覺得「身為」一個女孩子很丟臉，
但其實，你打從心裡想知道，如果自己是女孩子的話，感覺到底如何吧？

「到底身為女孩是什麼感覺呢？」這個問題，直到今天我還不斷問我自己。月經來了是怎麼樣呢？懷孕是怎麼樣呢？被當作「不能生的」是怎麼樣呢？被當作是嫁出去的外人是怎麼樣呢？當一位女教授卻沒有辦法結婚是怎樣呢？當所有主管只有你是女性又會是怎麼樣呢？那如果我是男生，情況會不會改變一點？

這首歌可以說是我對女性主義啟蒙的一首歌也不為過，現在回想起來，對還是國中生的我來說，當時的疑問與念想，比讀完所有研究、拜完所有知名大師，都還影響深遠。從此我一直想感受女孩的傷痛與掙扎（即便很多「男同志」也未必真正了解作為「女性」處境的艱難）。

歌詞有一句「Could you be a little weak」，今天是母親節，我很想獻給我身邊所有女性，可以脆弱一點、多分享一點、多抱怨一點，甚至可以覺得自己其實很偉大，因為身為女性，真的很偉大。

We had seen videos of Sky floating around on the internet a little while back and was blown away by how awesome this kid was. She is only 9 years old and is one of the youngest pro skateboarders in the world, she is also a professional surfer as well. Sky is originally from Miyazaki, Japan but happened to be in LA with her family for a little bit visiting. We were lucky enough to have a trip to LA planned around the same time they were in the US and was able to meet up with them before they headed back to Japan. We met up with Sky and her family at the Venice skate park for the day and had a blast filming with Sky as she absolutely destroy the park. The highlight for us was being able to capture one of her newest and most difficult tricks in super slow motion, the 540 Rodeo Flip. We captured her trick and many other amazingly difficult tricks in super slow motion with our Phantom High Speed Camera at 1500 fps which really shows off how technical and difficult her tricks are!

How many of you have dirty sneakers just WAITING to be cleaned? I used to clean my sneakers with usual detergent soap (it's my go-to!) but then my dad told me there were sneaker cleaners in his shop that I could try cause my sneakers were getting a little too grey. I tried it out - and here's what came out of it!
