Odigo recently updated their website with a lot of cool stuff, so if you haven't been in a while you should check it out! For those of you who don't know, Odigo is a free Japan travel website that lists all the best travel spots in Japan (ranked by users), which you can use to make your own trip. You can add these spots to your itinerary and Odigo will calculate how long it will take to travel between them (by using google maps, which it links you to so you can also check alternate routes) and how much it costs, so you can actually plan out your whole itinerary right on the website for free, and then save/print it in a couple different ways!
You can also book everything through the website as well, from hotels and flights to tours and activities like dressing up as a geisha, going snorkeling, making Japanese crafts, etc.
And Odigo is now open as a community with real life rewards. If you sign up you get points for contributing to the community, like writing tips on location spots, writing articles for the website, or even just following people and signing in each day. 1 point = 1 yen, and when you reach 5,000 points (~$50) you can cash it out as a gift card. We've earned about $500 in Amazon gift cards so far! :p
As you earn points you rise in rank and if you reach the upper ranks like Ambassador you can actually be selected to start working for Odigo in other ways like getting sponsorships to travel Japan and make videos (like us), or get paid to write blog posts about spots Japan! :D

What's up friends! In my endless search for the next best language learning app, I stumbled across this simple beauty in the app store. Allow me to introduce Bunpo. Though not without flaws, it's a real gem for sure. For the TL;DR version of this video, here's my Twitter thread with my Bunpo progress and pros and cons: https://twitter.com/lindiebee/status/1231911295995252737
Bunpo is a pretty cool, comprehensive app for learning Japanese grammar. It goes from beginner (hiragana, katakana, and basic vocab) all the way to N1 (advanved Japanese) grammar. I've found Bunpo to be most effective when you do a little bit daily, and that also helps the review section not pile up. You can start anywhere depending on your level, but it's always fun to watch the lesson checkmarks get filled up as you make progress.

Here's my last vlog from #PolyglotConference 2019 in Fukuoka, Japan. I gave my speech that day, but the full speech will be uploaded on the Polyglot Conference channel on YouTube later. Enjoy some snippets from the event! Btw, it seems lots of people are asking if they can join this event if they're not a polyglot - of course you can! The conference is open to anyone interested in languages. We're all still learning and it's a great way for us to get together and share our love of languages. Come join us in 2020 in Cholula, Mexico in October!

I had a great time talking to Steve Kaufmann and learning from his expertise. We met at Polyglot Conference in Fukuoka but this is our first long chat about languages. Steve also surprised me with his Korean, and of course his fluent Japanese, Cantonese and Mandarin. He's one of my great YouTube polyglot (or rather, linguist, as he prefers to be called) inspirations. Hope you enjoy the video and learn a lot from him as I did! Press CC for subtitles at 10:58!
Keep an eye out for the interview we did on his channel!
