After at least 7-8 years post their second album tour, after realizing that they stopped releasing album for a long time after their second album, I’ve finally managed to meet them again.
ManHanD 慢行
I stumbled upon them back when I was still in high school. I was in the mall and heard some rapping, in Cantonese. I got curious. And without realizing, I bought both their albums, got a poster, got on stage and got all their signatures. And that’s how I got to know about Cantonese hip hop. I rarely talk about them, I wanna keep them as a indie crew that only I know, I refuse to share, and I see them as heroes. Heroes who didn’t care how people see them or whether or not it sells like crazy, they just kept pushing, and keeping doing it. Even up till now.
MC Bee (aka Beeman) got a little older, but can still do freestyle. I didn’t realize MC Toy was such an odd ball (in a good way) until yesterday. Von got married and the kid slept through the hip hop madness yesterday.
When the song 慢行 was played, my voice rushed before my brain and I was yelling on top of my lungs. Finally, after so many years, I can finally hear them sing it live and I get to sing along, while being less than 1m away from them. That 3 minutes meant so much to me. So so much.
I went to the event with 3 things in mind: to hear them perform live and sing along, to get a photo with them, and to get them to sign my shirt. And it all came true. I even got to talk to them for a little, passed them name cards and have Von explain to me how MC Toy is gonna take his time drawing my shirt. Draw! Go ahead and draw. It’s all yours to draw!
It’s so hard to see all of them together these days, and I am glad I went yesterday. I am so glad.
@manhand_official, thank you for all the amazing songs, thank you for the hip hop spirit that you have insisted on, thank you for bringing Cantonese hip hop into my life, thank you for coming together yesterday, thank you for making all my dreams come true. And thank you, for existing. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. -

✍🏻 As time goes by, have you ever thought about what you can accomplish every week?
I’ve come to a point where I need to restart my life and making my own decisions to move on, not neglecting my dream — singing, I treat my next journey like a vacation because life is unpredictably full of unknowns.
I’m making a wish every morning in order to keep a good vibe while I prepare my first winter sales for my partnership online brand BDN Couture 寶蝶妮 (I’ll update the first winter collection soon). It’s truly overwhelming to me that venturing into another industry takes such a huge courage and confidence, persuading myself that I can do a good job, sometimes, life left me with no choice but luckily I’m enjoying what I’m doing now.
Before I end this, let me know...would you still want to hear me sing? Would you mind if I become an indie singer? Would you mind if I do a completely different genre than sentimental music? Would you share my songs when I release them? Would you still remember me? There are always so many questions in my mind as I’ve been singing ever since 2005 till now so to be honest, I get annoyed too, or maybe I should just sing my story and release it...? Let me know.

The MV is finally here guys. About this work of music, I'd have it split into 2 parts. Simply because there were too many people contributing to the birth of these wonderful memories.

Part 1: THE TRACK
The track is called "There were...", an old song of mine which was reinvented to perform with Kenyan Boys Choir. This version was arranged by my respectful friend Nguyễn Thanh Tú.

About Kenyan Boys Choir, The Kenyan Boys Choir is a choral ensemble of talented boys from high schools and colleges around the country. The choir is dedicated to moulding a world-class choral outfit that offers a platform for its members to nurture and showcase their natural talents while imparting life principles of discipline, hard work, perseverance, persistence, and determination. During the performance, their eyes and smiles make all the differences, in both geologically and racially vanish. We recorded this track in 8/2019 at their studio in Nairobi, this wonderful collaboration had been done in my tour at Kenya this year - Dreamers Concert 6 - Awaken A-moment.

This track belongs to a music project called "Dreamers Concert World Music" which had been working on for the last 4 years long by me and Nguyen Thanh Tu, and today we enjoy the first song, "There were". All the other songs won't be published into an album, but totally free on my Youtube channel for everyone to enjoy. Just hit that 'Subscribe' button and wait for the release. The "Dreamers Concert World Music" project has 10 tracks, both newly-written and rearranged for me to perform with international artists from Mongolia, Bhutan, and Africa during these past few years. [2015 - 2019]

Without Tú's amazing efforts dedicated to the arranging of the tracks as well as the making of Dreamers Concert, I'd never had these precious opportunities to perform and play music with all these wonderful artists around the world. I really appreciate and love the music through Kenyan Boys Choir's voices. It's like the sounds from Heaven even I have no the slightest idea of what heaven is.

The additional recording and Mix&Mastering had been done in Vietnam thanks to the work of Minh XRecords. Thank you for patiently helped me in perfecting this musical work of mine.

Part 2: THE MUSIC VIDEO
To start out this part, I'd like to send my deepest thanks to the Red Team, the wonderful people who had taken care of my music video despite the tight conditions that we were in, to be able to record these simple, yet lovely and touching footages. Special thanks to Bi (Pierre Châu), Bô (Paul Châu), and Mr. Lê Hoàng for contributing countless valuable footages for the making of this Music Video.

Thank you, Ms. Nga, Mr. Tenzin, and Ms Tú for making the trip possible and help us be able to have this amazing journey. Hey! Thanks so much for checking out my live radio performance of my first original English lyrics & music song "Music for You". I wrote this song to encourage others to stay on track and keep focused on doing what you love, following your passion.

ABOUT EDEN KAI:
