Let's talk about our periods. Openly, with no embarrassment... and with Rayka Zehtabchi, director of "Period. End of Sentence" -- the Oscar-winning short film that tackles the taboo of menstruation.
Her film focuses on women in a small Indian village who start a life-changing business making and selling sanitary pads.
I asked Zehtabchi if she was shocked by how deep the stigma is around periods and menstrual hygiene when she filmed the documentary in India
"It's not until you are face-to-face with the women, having conversations with them and understanding what their day-to-day experiences are really like until you realize how deep this taboo is and how it holds women back," she tells me.
"The most incredible experience was witnessing how empowered these women felt after they started a business making these sanitary pads and really own it."
