⛔ TỪ VỰNG BAND 7+ TOPIC TRANSPORT ⛔
- Means of transport (n): Phương tiện giao thông
- Take the lead (v): Chiếm phần lớn
- Traffic congestion (n): Tắc đường
- Wend one’s way forward (v): Đi chậm chậm về phía trước
- MRT journey (Mass Rapid Transport journey) (n)
- Embark on the journey (v): Thực hiện chuyến đi
- Car rent (n): Phí thuê xe ô tô
- Board (v): Lên (tàu/xe)
- Fill up (v): Lấp đầy
- Jam-packed (adj): Đông người
- Rush hour (n): Giờ cao điểm
- Electric mini-bus (n): Xe buýt mini chạy bằng điện
- Carpooling (n): Hình thức đi chung xe
⛔ PART 1: What are the main means of transport in Vietnam?
There are quite a few means of transport in Vietnam, but motorbikes are taking the lead. (Reason) People prefer to travel by motorbike because it is more economical and the most important thing is that when it comes to traffic congestion, it takes ages for car to move on the road but it is much easier for a motorbike to wend its way forward and escape the bad traffic.
⛔ PART 2: Describe a time you travelled by public transport.
Well, today I would like to tell you about an MRT journey in Singapore that I took several years ago.
Actually, I was a junior in Hanoi University when I took my summer vacation there. After a month of planning, I decided to embark on the journey alone.
(Reason) I already knew that car rent in Singapore would be prohibitively expensive to a student like me, so I chose MRT to travel around the city, which was both fast and economical. (Example) I boarded a train at Lavender station which headed towards Marina Bays station. Luckily, I managed to find a seat before it was filled up. The trains here were notoriously jam-packed in rush hours.
To my surprise, it was so silent on the train, everyone tried to keep their voice low so that they wouldn’t bother others, and I have to say that was a strange thing when compared to buses in some countries. Moreover, the train went unbelievably fast, so it took me just about 15 minutes to arrive at my destination. I felt that such a long distance was made shorter thanks to this means of transport. That was my first time I went on a public transport and I hope that there will be more modern underground systems that are built in our country in the near future.
⛔ PART 3: How do you think people will travel in the future?
Well I think, electric mini-bus will be the prevalent means of transport in the future. (Reason) [1]One reason could be that it still carries the same number of passengers but being small and agile to get its way out of a traffic jam. (Example) In addition, carpooling may be a good idea (Reason) as people can not only save a great amount of money spent on fuel for their private car but they also help protect the environment. Many people travel in the same car means there will be less emission and less trafficjam and this may be a dominant way of transporting in the future.

One Song a Day - Visa, Time Difference, Air Mileage Translation below and song link below.

Half mandarin half English song from the album
•
Visa, Time Difference, Air Mileage
(Chet Lam)
•
Visa has been telling you
The world is not your home
Traveling for love is just a joke
It’s never free or easy
•
Wandering alone in a strange city
I look up the faded bronze statues
I think of all those times I tried to embrace the precious moments
Missing those places with time differences
•
From JFK to Heathrow
The more you know the less you remember
From Narita to Charles de Gaulle
It takes more and more time to make a decision
It takes less and less time to give up
I don't know where to go
I don't know where to go
Anyway I will never be the same again
There’s nowhere left to escape to in the world
•
Air mileage accumulated silently
Skies changed leaving no trace behind
You can catch up with some moments
But can never get back the past
Who knows where I’ll be next
•
From London to New York
Exciting things are rarer and rarer
Wanting to hold on to less and less
From Paris to Tokyo
The map is wider and wider
The world is smaller and smaller
I don't know where to go
I don't know where to go
Anyway I will never be the same again
Who knows what to expect next
•
Now come on, come on
Why don’t you sit by my side
You got nowhere to hide
Oh come on, come on
We all got nothing to lose
Really nothing but time
I don't know where it goes
I don't know where it goes
Anyway I will never be the same again
When I wake up tomorrow
Everything will be different

how to travel alone for the first time 在 AppWorks Facebook 的最佳解答
Have you spent more time on Zoom calls and webinars this month than you have ever spent in the previous year before? You are not alone.
With enforced social distancing in all Greater Southeast Asia countries, and bans on travel and public excursions in a number of them, this may be the new status quo for a few years, if statistical projections of the Covid19 pandemic are reliable.
Founders can take insights from pretty stressful experiences like this to help them get better at their startup journey. This current situation is a good example.
This month, I talked to Lewis Pong and Alan Chan of Hong Kong-based startup Omnichat (AW#16), to find out what these founders were learning during this disruption.
They reported that their acquisition of new clients grew 20% during the weeks of the pandemic lockdown, as they turned to using online tools to hold webinars and to interact with client leads.
I wanted to dig into why this is, because I think young founders can learn from this during search for product-market fit in a rather constrained environment. Keep in mind, this is my interpretation of my chat with them, and I'm focusing here on the insight. Here's some context, first.
Lewis and Alan operate a marketing automation startup that helps retailers learn about and stay in touch with customers through automated omnichannel messaging. There's more to it than that, but that's the core.
One of their business development demographics is bricks and mortar retailers who would benefit from connecting to customers online.
If you are a bricks and mortar retailer, the insights and connections you have developed through foot traffic make up part of your competitive advantage.
But overnight, foot traffic vanished. Retailers that had prioritized bricks and mortars methods for sales suddenly found they had no more advantage. And for founders like Pong and Chan, they also lost their ability to do face-to-face meetings.
Chan and Pong turned to webinars and online tools to step in and connect to these business leads. It turned out, this not only showed these clients how online truly worked. It deepened their interest in Omnichat.
They were able to move beyond describing concepts to previously uncertain bricks and mortar business owners, to showing real value.
The core lesson in a situation like this is what Regis McKenna, a marketing guru, pointed out way back in 1997. Marketing doesn't sell a product or a good as much as providing the actual service and experience does. Marketing is an entire process that stimulates a customer to have this shared experience. This happens to be the DNA of online platforms. They are built to provide this in so many ways.
Pong and Chan were able to create conversion because they were able to work with clients in the same environment where their marketing promised value for end users. They lived online with their customers.
This is something, in my opinion, that is useful for any kind of business, but is absolutely essential in startups. Startups are always something new. They can rarely be described by talking about them. They have to be lived. And that goes for the customers founders bring along on the journey.
If you are a founder figuring out product-market fit and want to learn from other founders, we welcome you to join our network of over 1100 founders from around Taiwan and Southeast Asia during our next accelerator program. Applications for our AI and Blockchain focused Accelerator will be released in May here: https://bit.ly/2XWJshX

Hey guys,
It seems like it took us forever to edit this vlog. But we hope we are not too late~ First, we would like to thank you guys for all the bday wishes. You guys made our day even more special and warmer ?? We hope that we can continue to celebrate more bdays with you guys ???
We realised we only have 5000-word limitation here so we couldn't answer everyone. Sorry guys~ We'll probably answer them in our other vlogs.
Lots of love,
Jo & Sue
?IG QUESTIONS?
? What kind of app you use to edit your insta stories?
Sue: Inshot app. Cinema 02 filter + grains OR I use SNOW app
Jo: VSCO. M5 filter, M5 +2.8, Exposure +0.4, Contrast +0.5, Sharpen +4.1, White Balance : Temperature -0.9, Tint +1.2, Vignette +8.0, Grain +4.0
? How to you manage alone time?
We both have our own routine & we respect each other space. We actually spend most of our time alone~ Just in the vlog it seems like we are together 24/7
? If all expenses paid and no pain at all, what kind of plastic surgery would you girls do?
Love this question! We do get sponsorship offer for plastic surgery and we have kinda high tolerance for pain but we still rejected the offer =) We don’t think we would change a thing~ It’s not that we are happy with everything that we’re born with just that we think we rather learn to love what we are given. That being said, we are not against plastic surgery either.
? With your current income, do you guys be able to make a living on your own?
We survived. LOL~ It’s not a lot but we love what we do and we’ll continue to work hard.
? What happens if you are over 35 and have not married yet?
Good question~ We don’t think it should be an issue. Married or not, it won't change a thing =)
? Is there any tips or book recommended to start reading?
We all have different book preferences. When people say they are not a reader we always think that they have not found the right book. It’s not you, it’s the book LOL So keep searching and keep reading. Don’t feel bad to leave a book if you don’t like it~
? What if one day you two fall in love with the same guy?
It’s not going to happen~ We both have different taste in guys
? If you were to focus on one thing you can improve on, what would it be?
Sue: I would like to improve my sleeping habit. I need to sleep early.
Jo: For work, I want to improve my Photoshop skill. For personal, I want to overcome my fear of crowds.
? What is something which gives you happiness recently?
Jo: Baking cakes & learning crochet
Sue: Exercising & Baking breads
? Places / Country you guys want to travel when C19 ends or safe to travel again?
Jo: Korea
Sue: Taiwan~ Since we’re learning Mandarin, I think Taiwan is the great to practice my Mandarin. Plus, I like Taiwan.
? What’s your preference in guys?
Jo: I like hardworking guys. And also someone who knows how to enjoy life alone and with people too.
Sue: I like animated guys… I’ll leave it as that. LOL
? What made you start your own business? How to solve it when no customer buy?
We started our first business as a side thing. We just love clothings and we thought selling clothing would be fun. When we closed our clothing business down, opening another business seems like a familiar thing to do~
& how to get more customers? You can pay for ads. Get influencers to promote your business. Get family and friends to spread the news.
? Do you guys inspire each other? Who inspire who the most?
We both have different style so we get inspirations from outside sources ( like on Pinterest, YouTube or Instagram)
? How tall are you guys? Both of you look so tall.
We get that a lot. But we are tiny~ 157cm =)
?What’s the cutest thing someone did for you?
Jo: The cutest thing is when a perfect stranger gave me an extra rose because he saw my then bf only gave me one stalk of rose. lol
Sue: When my mum bought us balloons on our birthday
? Advice to those who are entering into their 20s?
Jo: If you just entering your 20s, Welcome to adulthood~
My advice … Live & Be happy. Do what you love. Learn about yourself as much as you can. Learn new things. Try new things. and use SPF HAHA!
Sue: This is an exciting time. Like what Jo said, "Learn about yourself as much as you can". It's the time you get to choose what you want to do, what you want to be and be sure to choose wisely who you surround yourself with. .
