Tip No. 41: You know those quirky little things you do and think? Collect them in a file or on paper. Even if you’re a storyteller, you can use these as details to add depth and distinction to your jokes.

Tip No. 45: Don’t Hoard Jokes
Don’t worry about “burning” material on a special or album. Hoarding jokes may signal to your brain that you’re out of ideas. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” — Maya Angelou.
Gary’s thoughts on Tip No. 45: This attitude has been crucial to an unprecedented streak of creativity over the last two years. I’ve written four hours of material, which is almost as much as I wrote in my first 23 years of comedy. Most important has been my health, this idea may be second.
Tip No. 62: Look for inspiration everywhere. Paintings, music, poetry, rap, novels, nonfiction, short stories, theater, philosophy, etc. can all provide a spark for creativity. Cross-pollinate your work with broad influences and watch your creativity grow.
Tip No. 63: Write it all down while the coffee is still telling you you’re mighty. Reread after you’ve turned back into Dr. Banner (yes he’s a genius, but not as self-confident in that condition). That buzz is so valuable but needs editing.
GARY'S FAVORITES
Gary(原作者)的最愛
Tip No. 90: After a Good Set, Brainstorm
You just had a great set. Instead of celebrating, use that hour or so after when the synapses are still firing and your confidence is soaring to voice record or write down the ideas that pop up during that especially fertile creative time.
Gary’s thoughts on Tip No. 90: Huge help in making jokes that work longer and coming up with tangents and inspired ideas.
Tip No. 92: Notice where you do your best thinking. The shower? Running? Listening to music? Not listening to music? Driving? Walking? Make sure to put yourself in the places where you’re doing your best thinking as frequently as possible.
Tip No. 132: I think you can limit frustration and discouragement by writing just a page on a new premise before trying it out onstage. See if there’s anything there before you spend a day on a new joke. But if you’re truly excited by the new idea, keep going!
Tip No. 143: Listen to strangers’ conversations. (I tell myself it’s not impolite if they’re being super-loud.) I got “How Dottie is that?” when a supercilious woman named Jodi bragged “How Jodi is that?” “So Jodi,” her friend replied.
我有一次聽到一個名叫Jodi的膚淺女人吹噓"How Jodi is that?",她朋友回覆:"So Jodi",我因此想出了我的 “How Dottie is that?”
Tip No. 157: Need new joke ideas? Be sensitive. If you’re uncomfortable with that word, use “irritable” (or grow up). A lot of good comedy comes from reaction to injustice or discomfort large and small, which requires being hypersensitive to those feelings.
Tip No. 217: “All art is autobiographical. The pearl is the oyster’s autobiography.” — Federico Fellini. Purposefully mine your personal history for your act. Your life is a wellspring. Dig deep.
Federico Fellini
Tip No. 241: Many of your favorite writers include the same themes/subjects/objects/interests repeatedly in their work. Don’t be afraid to return again and again to your passions and obsessions to explore and expound.
Tip No. 285: Explore unusual angles in a joke. Example: Examine things from the POV of a child or an Expert. My man Jimmy P and I still laugh over his “Martian response to high school football practice: Why are the hard-heads (players) taking orders from the small soft-heads (coach)?”
Tip No. 297: One of the miracles of comedy is that you can get redemption for suffering, small and large, by making something funny with it. When you are ready, try to write something funny about your mistakes, setbacks, or even tragedies.
Tip No. 298: Skim your life for the unusual events and activities that you can’t believe you were a part of or that people can’t believe you were a part of. Then write about it! Back row No. 93 MULLET:
Tip No. 310: When it comes to solving the puzzles that are our jokes, draw on every area of knowledge, expertise, and talent. It’s so gratifying to use a fact, a lesson, or a memory from elementary school, high school, or elsewhere to fill in the joke.
Tip No. 311: Some of your best ideas will come to you in the shower. There’s science behind why it happens. Get a shower notepad if you have trouble remembering your ideas. Don’t listen to music. Listen to your thoughts. Ruminate on tonight’s set or a new joke.
Tip No. 313: Try teaching or informing the audience about something through some of your jokes. We love to learn while being entertained and vice versa. You have knowledge? Put it in your act! Just make sure it’s funny.
Tip No. 327: Going home for Thanksgiving? Take copious notes! Your family is unique. Being reminded of the dynamics and adding new memories will be great resources for your act. “Family isn’t a word. It’s a sentence.”
Tip No. 331: There are great stories from our lives that we’re not able to translate into stand-up. Don’t throw them out. Collect those stories in a file for radio and TV and other interview situations.
Tip No. 340: Volunteer! Especially if you don’t have a day job. There are so many opportunities to help. You will do good and have something new to write about. In NYC we have New York Cares. One year we decorated an elementary school for Halloween.
Tip No. 358: I have recently started audio recording all notes sessions (for projects), and next time I pitch jokes with a friend I will record that too. It’s very helpful. You will be surprised at what you forgot when you listen back. Ask permission first.
Tip No. 360: Spending holidays with kids? Pay attention to them. Listen to them. Take note and embrace their curiosity and enthusiasm within your writing. (Also avoid the “kids these days” writing. It’s lazy.) Merry Christmas from your second favorite long-haired Jew.

how to get into rap 在 阿龍 Dallas Waldo Facebook 的最佳解答
Hi everybody, my name is Dallas, I have curated a Spotify playlist for your enjoyment. The songs on this list are not the newest songs, nor is this list a complete representation of hip hop, they are simply songs which I enjoy listening too. I also live off rap and other forms of entertainment these days as well, so I guess I "officially" kinda~ know what I'm talking about.
Check out the playlist here: https://open.spotify.com/…/11158613413/playlist/39uap0OKsJT…
The list is comprised of 45 songs and spans nearly 3 hours. The voices of over 40 artists can be heard on this playlist, with most artists only appearing once. The most frequently appearing artist is the GOAT--Kendrick "Kungfu Kenny" Lamar (2.5 songs). Drizzy also appears twice, however although there are tons of big names on the list I chose to exhibit their less popular tracks that might change your perspective of certain artists you've heard of but never dove into!
PS. GOAT conversations are prohibited in this thread. As of the date this post was released, K Dot undisputedly takes it. That's final. Moving on now.
Of course, I myself am a rapper, and like any rapper, I listen to myself... So before you call me out, I'll come clean and admit I have shamelessly included 2 of my own tracks as well. That's right, I'm finally on Spotify, iTunes and more NOW! Please follow and download and listen on repeat for the rest of your life. I get 0.6 cents per play. Thanks. Shameless plug over.
However to be fair, I encourage all composing musicians to compare their work to the greats, and hold yourself to their standards (I know I'm still a long way off, be easy on me). I personally am always listening to my own tunes whether it's to practise lyrics/performance, listen for flaws, or to simply relive the experience that produced that song. And don't forget this is a playlist I curated based on what I really listen to, so u can't be mad at that, now, can you? The fact there's only 2 of my songs on this list is the most dishonest part about it!
But anyways... Back to how this benefits YOU! This is a good place to start for those who still aren't into "new hip hop" yet and don't want to dig. Your curious, you've heard there's a group of amigos who are into dabbing (whatever that is?), but your lazy, still listening to Wu Tang on cassette tapes... That's OK, I've done the work to get u going. If you don't like anything here, just hit rewind on your tape player. The majority of the list is composed of personal favorites from recent years sprinkled with a couple golden era gems. If you like a song, click the artist name to hear more from them. Happy digging!
If you have any suggestions who you would like to hear on there, feel free to holler as I'll be updating occasionally. Peace out!
PSS If you've read this far, I now revoke your prohibition of debating the Greatest-Of -All-Time. You may now commence to quarrel for days.

It’s a whole new world,
we gonna write a whole new story
No matter who you are,
Just make the first step to change the game

We share our love and care.
Give a hug to those haters
Everyone can be a hero,
Use all your power to make a move

Hey, wake up and get up now
No BS and no excuse, Comeon
Big change gonna happen now
Believe it, push it and you know how

Shout out CJ, staten Island to九龍[Kowloon], y'all already know what time it is
Whoopty, yeah, Big Spoon, Young Hysan, Dough-Boy
Verse 1 - Big Spoon
Whoopty, I'm scraping the pot with a spoonie (Uh)
Ooh wee, I'm serving a bird to them foodies
Moving more white than the top of Mt. Fuji
Pushing a key just like Claude Debussy
Chop on my side watch it kick just like Bruce Lee
Linked up with Gareth and Hysan my juvies (Huh)
Pow pow, blick got you laying down like Pacquiao
Starting beef with us, we giving you mad cow
Hahahaha you mad now
I'm back on my牛屎,trap out of間酒店,熟客可以有九折
[I’m back on my bullsh*t, trap out of a hotel, loyal customers can get 10% off]
[Diamonds sitting on my bracelet, we are wilder than some monkeys, we are rich because of trapping]
Verse 2 - Young Hysan
Whoo! All of my diamonds like flu
Whoo! Coronavirus diamonds, sticky icky on my neck like it’s glue (Ah)
Shoot out the motherf*cking roof (Yeah)
Look like the new Illuminati with the mob, who the f*ck is your crew? (Uh)
B*tch we a family, not a group
We catch the opps, we fill they pants up with poop (Ah)
Whoopty, poopty, poop, poop, woo (Ah)
She suck on the d*ck, like she tryna play on the flute (Ah)
“Do Ba Do Be Do”, my hundreds keep singing “I’m Blue” (Ah)
I put my kids all in her mouth like that sh*t toothpaste
Blue cheese, blue diamonds, blue perks, yeah that’s a whole lotta blue things
Blew 22 thousand out the courtroom, hoe nah I can’t lose the case (Ha)
Say I ain’t put in the work, I put y’all on the newspage
Beat up the fentanyl, straight outta Chi-land, the powder go
Verse 3 - Dough-Boy
Got a mill in the bank, half in my crypto account
They told me to broaden my tank; euros and pesos and pounds
They asking me, "how do you do that - a hundred stacks in your shoe rack?"
Bet they can’t tell by the way that I look, got no idea where my goons at
Whoopty, living large like a movie
Boom boom boom; turning these dogs into p*ssies
Been on tour with these groupies, hitting 'em raw like sushi
Then give her that Louis, give her the Versace
Give her that Birkin, give her that Gucci
Been there, done that. Most of 'em ain’t got no comeback
This the part where I talk my sh*t, before they bring the drums back
All these snakes in this music sh*t, seen 'em since October
But you know that I’m Asian, b*tch; I eat these f*cking cobras, whoo!

Lyrics :
[Verse 1: Zashō]
“Never go back! We have to step forward!”
Yeah I’ve heard you said, before
Woah
(Yeah i go)
[Verse 2: LICKONE]
I can imagine how much I left
Waiting good timing for the city collapse
I bet your life just a joke that’s a fact
Matter fact I gonna put a middle finger on your face
Say
Fuck off, god damn
Work hard, get paid
Blue pill, red pill
I’m afraid of taking both pills
No deals
You better sit tie with your seat belts
No kills
Needles got me into sedative
Blood line working on relatives
Speaking thru my vines you see me I don’t even lie
While you’ve wonder all the night, I’m just over qualify.
Working for the dead president,
Check on my face
I just try to wait for great candidate,
We made some clams
Someday I might shine brighter than the betelgeuse, untouchable
You can’t even leave your comfort zone, unbreachable uh
[Verse 3: Aminato]
Yeah, look at my eyes’ Red like a Man
腦袋裝著Method 創了規則 from zero to the Tang(ten)
聽聽我feel the Tammy still loyal to Ri girl 脫離weed的病與痛
Asian boy, make some noises
支持你幻想may be a GOAT 抱歉我在地下平衡輕與重
Born again 戴上皇冠 fit on triple X
Dot K, Fuck Kanye
Like Terry Guo
No Man only for TK
[Verse 4: Saxer]
[Verse 5: Zac]

-LYRICS-
[Verse 1]
I'm broken down before your eyes
Hit rock bottom and keep sinking deeper
to grab onto last bit of hope
I've tried to reach out with both of my hands
So in this world of darkness, i light up the sky
while looking into your eyes (I) kiss you goodbye
just laugh all you want while u have a chance
Cause it’s ‘bout to be your turn now
[Chorus]
Ha how you like that?
You gon’ like that that that that that
Ha how you like that?
You gon’ like that that that that that
Now look at you now look at me
look at you now look at me
look at you now look at me
How you like that
Now look at you now look at me
look at you now look at me
look at you now look at me
How you like that
[Rap]
Your girl need it all and that’s a hundred
10 outta 10 you want what's mine and
Karma come and get some
Feel really bad but nothing I can do
What’s up, I’m right back
take gun out and cock back
Plain Jane get hijacked
Don’t like me? Then tell me how you like that
[Verse 2]
Though this world gets darker, I shine like the stars
with a smile on my face i'll kiss you goodbye
just laugh all you want while u have a chance
’Cause it’s ‘bout to be your turn now
[Chorus]
Ha how you like that?
You gon’ like that that that that that
How you like that?
How you like that that that that that
Now look at you now look at me
look at you now look at me
look at you now look at me
How you like that
Now look at you now look at me
look at you now look at me
look at you now look at me
How you like that
[Bridge]
Oh that day i fell so hard without my wings
Oh those days of darkness I was trap inside
You should've ended me when you had the chance
Look up in the sky it’s a bird it’s a plane
Bring out your boss b****
