"In addition to my assignments, I have pursued stories of personal significance. I paid my own way often to create this work, and ultimately it was this work which moved me forward in this business. For this project, I wanted to photograph Native Americans because I was raised with little connection to my heritage. From the people I photographed, I learned about courage and survival. I learned there were great stories to tell that aren't taught in school. I was embraced as a daughter of this heritage.
When I was coming up in the business of photography, there were few grants, if any, specifically supporting women photographers.

The Leica Women Foto Project Award is a big leap toward honoring women and those who identify with a feminine identity, showcasing how we see the world and why our voices are important. So many stories which have been ignored can blossom because of these grants. The Leica Women Foto Project Award and Mentorship applications are open and democratic, where we have a chance to dream, to be seen, to be heard."

One room, 2 lights, 20 different looks. I was excited to try out the LC-160RGBW II because it's a very bright, foldable "light cloth" with full RGB + color temp (3000-9999k). So I can get the softbox look in small spaces, no gels needed. The Light Cannon X-100 is a hard source with built-in fresnel, and it's great for simulating a beam of sunlight (2800-6500k). I had about 2 months to try out the amazing Sony A7siii, and here are my unbiased, honest thoughts (and lots of footage). I've filmed with Sony mirrorless cameras for almost 10 years now, so this camera is kind of a big deal for me. I had very high expectations, and the a7siii rocked it. Great job Sony! Far off the beaten path lies an ancient temple, hidden in the shadow of something you would not expect to there!

This was my travel adventure, hiking across Macau to reach the old Temple called Sam Seng Temple.

Located behind the mountains of Coloane right on the edge of Macau, China. This temple could be considered the ultimate hidden gem.

To reach it I had to hike off the beaten path and go to a part of Macau I had never been to before. It was a crazy walking adventure through beautiful nature and secret travel locations.

I started my adventure in Taipa side, hiking up the beautiful Taipa hills. Here I found an abandoned building which offered a great view of the city below. I spent the morning drinking coffee and taking in the beautiful view from nature. At the top of Taipa hill this travel hidden gem is perfect for hikers or photographers looking for a good view.

I then walked down to the Cotai Strip. Due to current travel bans this once bustling tourism hub is now completely quiet with nobody around. It is a peaceful walk on a nice day currently.

Next I hiked up the mountains of Coloane, Macau, exploring and discovering hidden hiking trails which brought me to beautiful nature environments and awesome views.

Finally I hiked to the ancient temple found right beside Macau's giant Power Plant. In the Ka Ho Village area of Coloane it is a very secretive travel location and one of my favorite hidden gems I have explored on my Macau travel vlogs.
