A rescue dog in Tennessee became a Fourth of July hero after alerting her owner to a house fire next door and saving a family asleep inside.
一隻田納西的救難犬在7月4日這天成了英雄，因為牠機警提醒主人隔壁的房子失火，而當時隔壁一家人都在屋內沉睡。
Roux, a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois, was barking “frantically and unusually” at the front door of owner Jeff LeCates’ home in Franklin, about 21 miles south of Nashville, late Saturday night, a fire department press release said.
根據富蘭克林消防局的新聞稿指出，Roux是一隻三歲的比利時瑪利諾犬（註），與主人傑夫（Jeff LeCate）居住在納什維爾市（Nashville）以南約21哩的富蘭克林市（Franklin），上周六的深夜，牠在家中的門口發狂似地且不尋常地持續吠叫，引起傑夫的注意。
When LeCates opened the door to investigate, Roux bolted outside. LeCates followed and saw his neighbor’s home on fire.
當傑夫打開門上前查看時，Roux迅速向外跑，傑夫緊跟身後，並發現隔壁房子正起火燃燒！
LeCates pounded on their door, waking the family of three still inside. They escaped with their pets unharmed. LeCates used a garden hose to fight the flames until firefighters arrived.
傑夫敲門吵醒還在裡面的鄰居。他們趕緊和家中寵物離開，幸好鄰居一家皆毫髮無傷。傑夫則用花園水管來撲滅火焰，直到消防人員趕到為止。
The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damages, according to the release. Officials said illegal consumer fireworks sparked the fire.
根據新聞稿，這場大火估計造成了50,000美元的損失。消防人員認為應該是國慶違法施放的煙花所引起的火災。
註︰比利時瑪利諾外型與德國狼犬相似，由於天性勇敢機警，是最適合執行搜救任務的犬種。
