At Pantai Pasir Hitam, or Black Sand Beach, in Langkawi.
We managed to make a stop here on our last day just before the sun set and were the last ones to leave this peaceful place. While the water isn't safe or clean to swim, we had brought along our fishing net and the big girl caught a huge crab shortly, amazing, she is really getting good at this! The younger ones were just happy to blow some bubbles, play a don't-get-hit-by-the-bubbles game with Papa and enjoy that simple, happy moment.
Oh, why is the sand black? Actually, it is more of black granules within the usual white sand - unlike the Black Sand Beach we went in Iceland which was filled with pure black sand orignated from basalt lava. The thing is, despite much speculation, theories and myths surrounding it, it is still considered a mystery as no one can be entirely sure up till this day.
All we know is this black sand can't be found in anywhere else in Langkawi except here and that makes it tempting for us to set foot on this place and take this family shot. In matchy tees somemore lor. Gotta wear more while they still fit the kids. Haha.
