It'a been a year since the big girl started on her Ortho-K journey and we are happy to update that she is still loving being specs-free and enjoying perfect eyesight! Woohoo!

In fact, this active girl who loves to dance, loves the beach and loves outdoor activities says that she never ever wants to wear specs again. Haha. Well, maybe except when she has sore eyes and has to skip wearing her lens for a night.

For those who don't know, Orthokeratology, or Ortho-K, is the use of specially designed and fitted contact lenses to temporarily reshape the cornea in order to improve vision. It is a surgery-free method to mainly correct myopia, or short-sightedness. Ortho-K lenses are worn at night to reshape the front surface of the eye while you sleep and they are described as "braces for the eyes".

She has totally gotten accustomed to her daily routine and doesn't take more than 10 minutes to remove her lens in the morning or put them on before bedtime. We are truly glad to have embarked on this journey with Eyesight.sg and thankful for the wonderful service they provide during every review. It was also awesome hearing how our friend recently did it for her 9yo daughter too and was incredibly amazed to see how her eyesight became 6/6 within a month. Yup, it always makes me happy to know that our recommendation worked well for others too.

As a mum, I am happy seeing her big smiles and knowing that she loves her life. To my girl, it's okay that we have small eyes hor, we just want them to be healthy and our vision to be clear. Continue enjoy being specs-free and remember to practise good reading habits, yeah? Love ya! ❤

Woohoo! Someone is so happy to achieve 6/6 for both her left and right eye during her vision test this month.

Of course, she is still myopic but thanks to @eyesightdotsg, Ortho-K techonology and her diligence in committing to her morning and night routines, this little dance lover is very happy that she gets to be specs free while enjoying perfect eyesight too.

She is totally comfortable with wearing her lens to sleep overnight and putting them in and taking them out is a breeze for her too. Phew. I am really thankful to see how much she has progressed in five months and seeing her eye test results made both of us jump in joy too.

This little dancer is feeling elated today because she doesn't need to wear her specs, woohoo!

It's been over four months since she put on her first pair of glasses and we were told by her optometrist that her degree is increasing too fast, which isn't really a surprise judging by how she reads non-stop. She doesn't get much screen time and is device-free for now, so books are really the main cause of her myopia.

Anyway, we were advised to try to control her progression as early as possible and considering how she doesn't like to put on specs in the first place because of her passion for dance, we have embarked on her Ortho-K journey with @eyesightdotsg.

I had a handful of queries from some of you last night and will be answering them via DM and sharing more info in my highlights too. Basicially, OrthoKeratology, or Ortho-K, is a treatment to stop myopia progression and allows you to have practically perfect eyesight in the day without glasses. You will need to wear a special lenses to sleep at night - which reshapes your cornea - and be committed and diligent in keeping up with the routine.

It's the first day that the big girl is going to be specs free after all these months and we are very excited to see where this journey will bring us. Follow my stories for more updates as we go along, yeah?
