Hi there, It’s taking more time to settle down at my new home than expected but hey, I was lucky to spot a cute tiny gecko in the kitchen🦎💕In Japanese they’re called yamori, which means “house guardian” since they eat bugs and are symbol of good luck🍀

Btw let’s talk about the materials I used for Inktober✨
Some have asked what are those card boards called. They’re “Shikishi” boards, commonly used to write messages, for calligraphy or autographs, and goes very well with Copic markers too. There are some types that are made of watercolour paper so you can also work with inks and washes. They already come with the gold edges. I believe you can find them in art shops that also carrie materials for Japanese calligraphy, for example.

Metallic colours: the favourite of many is Gansai Tambi Starry Colors from Kuretake. This brand seems to have retailers around the globe, so if you’re interested have a look at your local art shop first. Btw Gansai is the name for the Japanese watercolour which is slightly more opaque than traditional ones, but they have a wide range of normal paints too.
Another favourite of my metallic paints is Finetec’s watercolours, with lots of colours to choose from✨Since they’re from Germany I don’t see them often in Asia but I got mine by chance from a calligraphy shop. Apparently they ship internationally so you can check the details with them.
Gel pens with metallic and glittery ink are great too, as well as the white ink pens to add small details or corrections. In particular I’m using those from Uniball.
I wouldn’t recommend using metallic colours if you plan to scan them. They look great on a picture you hang on the wall but the scanner obviously will not catch the shine.
