看字面上的意思，有：從事於;忙於;埋頭致力於
因此我粗淺的理解是主動型態的。
不過看大部分的寫法，如：
My father is engaged in farming.
我父親從事農作。
上面那句就是被動型態；而且似乎很多人自傳也常這樣用。
不過TIME寫馬英九的文章：
Ma, a Harvard Law School graduate, is proposing that China and Taiwan set
aside the ideological differences at the heart of their conflict and
engage in a sweeping program of economic and cultural exchanges.
這裡頭的engage in我是翻作致力於....
請問是字義上的不同（從事於;埋頭致力於）才造成型態不同嗎？
或者有著我不瞭解的規則或習慣？
P.S. TIME 的 engage in 時態也怪怪的.... 不是 engaged 也不是 engaging...
