World Mental Health Day is extremely important because the more time passes, the more we realise how much mental health is key to general health. Please know that it’s ok not to be ok. According to a global survey conducted by Ipsos, the Covid-19 pandemic has taken a toll on people's mental health with 44% of Malaysians saying that their mental wellness has been affected since the pandemic. It is reported that issues faced by about 50 per cent of callers were related to stress, anxiety and despair. The factors were loss of jobs, no source of income, interpersonal relationships, isolation and reduced access to mental health help and services during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
