This is the first time I’m dining in at Beurre. I ordered food from them twice during CB. So, I wasn’t expecting to be wowed by the food, but I actually was! I tried the special menu curated for Kris+ Gastronomy Series ($58+/4 courses) and I was seriously surprised by how good the Spanish Mackerel and Challans Duck Breast were. The almond-crusted mackerel was delicious and the perfectly-executed duck breast with a crisp caramelised skin knocked our socks off. We found the menu to be great value for money. Plus, you can get 4 bonus miles per dollar, on top of your usual credit card mile accrual with the Kris+ app so I’ll strongly recommend that you give this menu a go before May ends! Oh, and you might wanna grab a glass of their signature butter beer when you’re here!

I spent an afternoon with the South American dream team - @virgiliocentral @pialeonkjolle @agux1988 @rchaneton. The afternoon was spent learning about their countries’ diverse flavors and ecological offerings through their creations at an epic 8-hands tasting menu hosted at the newly opened @monohkg.
Virgilio Martinez and Pía León are the husband and wife duo behind Lima’s famous restaurant, @centralrest as well as Pia’s restaurant @kjollerest. They brought a variety of ingredients from Peru, including panca chiles, maca root, kiwicha (seeds similar to quinoa), palm tree hearts, and cacao.
The meal started with canapés from all four chefs (5th photo starting from the left), Agustin’s tuna with matcha soy sauce, Ricardo’s sea urchin arepa, and Pia & Virgilio's purple sweet potato with cured duck tartar, Escabeche sauce, and panca chiles.
The first two dishes were created by Pia & Virgilio - scallop ceviche and maca root (aka Peruvian ginseng). The scallops were served with barnacle and seaweed crackers, which were flavored with smoke from Palo Santo wood, rosemary and other herbs (swipe to the 8th photo in the gallery).
Next up was jícama root filled with avocado, Carabinero (a type of Spanish prawn) and mountain grain from the Peruvian Andes Mountains (the first 3 photos).
Chef Ricardo Chaneton’s dish followed (9th photo) with foie gras served with mole (made with over 25 ingredients including eggplant, chilies, peppers, spices, and more) and mukago, which are pea-sized potatoes that grow on the vine and not underground. Ricardo also added Marigold leaves, tarragon powder and toasted buckwheat for a bit of crunch. The combination of the foie gras and mole was genius! @ MONO

其實已不是第一次來。上次剛開時來吃過已覺得很不錯但人不多點的菜㮔類有限,所以要等到這次人數多菜夠多試真了才結論。
屬於現代bistro,沒有像現在一堆已泛濫的fusion餐廳的花巧擺盤或刻意用大量不同食物味道放在一起,這餐廳的菜只把食物的原味呈現,看似簡單卻完全不簡單!
很喜歡這裡的蔬菜海鮮。除了很新鮮以外,風格像在吃威尼斯或靠地中海的歐陸菜,頗有風味。
主菜只有幾道選擇不多但都好吃。炸豬排再薄一點就跟米蘭箸名炸小牛排,而現在的厚度比較有口感。熟成的鴨胸有點像臘鴨,味濃而不膩。 安格斯Prime肋眼是我最喜歡的一道,肉瘦但夠嫩,烤得剛好而且有肉味。雖然還有一段距離,但我隱若看到Peter Luger的影子。
整晚唯一可挑剔的是意大利麵, 麵過濕偏軟,不然整晚就完美了!
This is not my first time visiting this bistro. My initial impression was good during my last visit when the restaurant was newly opened. As the dishes we ordered were limited with only two people, I wanted to wait til after this time, with more people to order more dishes, to give my comments.
Not following the current trend with overflow of fusion restaurants blending in many tastes together in their dishes, this contemporary style bistro primarily highlights the original flavour of each dish. This may seem simple but without leveraging the flavour of various condiments, achieving a desirable taste is certainly no easy task!
I like the vegetables and seafood here. Not only that they are fresh, but also the way they present their dishes is similar to authentic Venetian or Italian & Spanish regions around the Mediterranean Sea.
Selection of main courses is limited but they are well executed. If the pork schnitzel were to be thinner, it’d have a close resemblance of veal Milanese,while now can feel a better texture of the meat. The waxed aged duck gave an extra kick to the palate. My favourite dish of the evening is undoubtedly the Angus Ribeye steak. The meat is lean but tender enough. Of course it’s still a big difference, but I somehow see this style shadowing my all time favourite Peter Luger. The only set back are the pasta dishes, with the sauce being too watery and pasta itself can be more al dente. Otherwise the evening would be close to perfect.
