This long post is going to be about three awesome people. I am lucky I got to meet them— and work with them— this year.
Peter, Cyrus and Connie approached me at the start of the year with a very interesting project. They planned to produce a tv series that was a light comedy-drama on the outside, but one that chronicled people’s journeys through their challenges in life. A project with a timely message? I’m in!
Even better, I remember what Peter and Cyrus specifically said— that by casting me as a Psychologist, they wanted to clearly send a message, too. It is 2020, and we cannot make social generalisations and typecasting based on race. Do I agree? Most definitely.
So began the arduous work of learning my lines in Cantonese. I’ll be honest in saying it was difficult to juggle this with my real-life role as a business owner during the time of this pandemic. I couldn’t have done it without Connie’s patience in drilling the tones with me.
The show #暖男爸爸 is now in post-production, and will come out in ViuTV this Fall 2020. I am so thankful for the experience, and for the care that this team gave me.
Before the third wave of the virus hit, we were all able to sneak in a visit to Peter’s premiere of #Achoo and have a wrap up dinner. Aren’t we a lucky crew?
