It’s said that if you are bilingual, you practically think in different minds therefore have a different personality for each language. Apparently I sound softer when I speak English but slightly more vulgar in Cantonese. If you think I’m more vulgar in Cantonese, you don’t even want to know what I’m like with the dialect Hakka. My parents speak different Chinese dialects. Hakka was my first language but English is my primary since I grew up in the UK. Hakka is a dying dialect but I’m super thankful that I can communicate with so many bad ass Hakka grannies. So does this mean i have multiple personalities?
